The title says it all, I'm looking for old school death metal with a modern twist.

Macabra

Awful quality, but give them a shot. The split with Coffins was cool

Try Excoriate. I thought this whole album was great.

How about Tribulation? http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Tribulation/39589. They have just released their new album called "The Formulas of Death". Although you have to check their older material.

Nephelium would be worth checking out. They're somewhere in between in terms of influences from the new school and old school sounds.

I don't exactly know what you would consider to be ODSM with a modern twist, but check out Miasmal. http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Miasmal/3540265816 And Demiurg. http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Demiurg/88099

What about Bodyfarm? they basically play old school type of riffs without that sharp, razor-like guitar tone old bands usually had.
Their vocalist is awesome, pure deep growling, no sound editing.

Check out Disfigurement. Good mix of the old sound without sounding like a lot of the osdm worship bands floating around.
