Hey RC,

Today I'm looking for some good quality melodic deathrash in the vein of The Crown, Bloodshot Dawn, Darkane, Hatesphere, and Mygrain (not quite as thrashy as the others).

Drums: Anything goes as long as it's done well

Vocals: Don't really care as long as it's not too monotonous; Female vocals, clean vocals are acceptable

Guitars: Good leads, meloding solos and riffs, and heavy riffs mixed in. Some good crunch in the guitars is a plus

That's about it. Just something within the vein of the bands I mentioned

Any help is appreciated :)

Well, that's not uncommon at all. Many people go on 4chan in order to get off.

One of my favorite bands, Destroy Destroy Destroy, is definitely in order for a rec here.

If you're not a huge fan of the symphionic aspect, give their first album a spin. It is more a straight up Death/Thrash album.

Then there's Massakren, which despite being probably the biggest posers I've ever seen in Metal, does have some catchy MDM/Thrash stuff to offer.

I recommend Echidna, a melodic death/thrash band which immediately came to mind when I read your post. Watch out for the solo.

Dimension Zero is a safe bet.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C716pip_V3I

Also, if you haven't heard Arsis before, they might be in the same vein as what you're looking for. Thrashy, technical melodic death metal.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3c0A6u9EBI

Edit: This one leans more on the thrash side, so this is really hit or miss.

witchery is among my favourites from that style (along with the crown) - they're quite a bit more speed metally

Casketgarden are a thrashy ATG-worship band, so they're comparable to The Crown.

First album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lziz5TgJt6s (it gets thrashy at 0:49)
Second album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UOvMEcpsxg
Their demo is really thrashy but underproduced: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5t9pXrFjKJM

Are you looking for really thrashy stuff, or is thrashy melodic death metal like Sacrilege and Gates of Ishtar on course?

I've posted about this band before in melodic death metal suggestion threads, but I think they fit the criteria for Death/Thrash too; Bloodshot Dawn have some scar symmetry-ish melodies/solos with more groove/chugging thrash riffs and zero clean vocals http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1DMZokoelE

Try one of my favorites, Defleshed, from Sweden. Heavier on the thrash side, but great nonetheless.

The following are more on the melodic side, less so on the brutal death / death-thrash / extreme metal dimension, but you might enjoy them:

Solar Dawn's one album is outstanding melodeath with some thrash influences. I'd also recommend Amoral and Detonation.

Since you like Mygrain, you might like Avatar. It's slightly thrashy melodeath/power metal.

The Absence is another good recommendation. It is a bit more brutal.

Since you like The Crown, have you tried One Man Army and Undead Quartet?

Maybe try Fear My Thoughts' Vulcanus album?

Try the Forsaken http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/The_Forsaken/1160
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oA3rBMZ-7c

And maybe Hammercult? http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Ham ... 3540332858 Not actually melodic death/thrash, but I recommend them anyway because their debut album is pretty damn good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thR2HYusjaY

Carnal Forge and Casketgarden are good suggestions. Also have a look at Cerberus(US). I like their album Dispute the Truth as the first album to try. They're melodeath/thrash, with the primary emphasis on the thrash.

Also, another favorite of mind is the Forever Defiant album by Soulless, from the US. One of the better bands at this style, i believe.

Really liked this one because of the similarities to Hatesphere. The solo was great!

I already know about Dimension Zero. Good rec though. Arsis is kinda meh to me, but they're not what I'm looking for. Sylosis was really awesome, they're vocals are mostly what I look for in Deathrash.

Like Arsis, I've never really cared for Witchery.

Musically, Casketgarden is terrific, but the vocals sound too much like BMtH for some reason. As for your question, I'm looking for bands that lean more to the death metal side of things but still retaining some thrash influence.

I alread put that I wanted something similar to Bloodshot Dawn in my OP :-P . Thanks though, and I already listen to Scar Symmetry. Sadly, their only decent album is Holographic Universe :ugh:

Thanks for the recs! btw, I've alread tried One Man... and it's really bland compared to The Crown unfortunately.

Carnal Forge are extremely boring to me. Thanks for the rec anyway.

DeathChain are one of my favorites of all time, but not melodic enough. Good rec though

Hammercult are FUCKING AWESOME... but not what I'm looking for...

Thanks a lot!

I found Insanus and Final Breath. Insanus is closer to melodic death metal than thrash, and Final Breath is a little more thrashy than Insanus.

You wrote that you liked Sylosis, so I recommend Anterior. They are similar to Sylosis, except that they don't do cleans and are slightly more technical.

I think of the vocals (and the rest of it) as being very similar to Tomas Lindberg. What did you think of Sacrilege and Gates of Ishtar?

Gates of Ishtar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEwSkhdt_qQ
Sacrilege: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zEea7vI_P8

You might also like Eucharist's demo, it's thrashy and aggressive. You can download it (and all of their stuff) from their site: http://www.artnoir-productions.com/eucharist/mp3.html
