Similar to say... Septic Flesh or Fleshgod Apocalypse. Heavy, headbang-able Death Metal with an Epic or Atmospheric essence circulating it?

The Monolith Deathcult! Anything from "Trivmvirate" will fit the bill.

Horrified's debut album and Tiamat on The Astral Sleep and Clouds albums. Depresy's early work is also pretty good, mainly the EP and debut album.

Hmmm, try these:

Abysmal Dawn: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hAMR1iSeX8
Very head-bangable, with a bit of an epic streak. I really enjoy this band, I think they write some of the catchiest yet still heavy Death Metal around.

Akercocke: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw0qZZdxL8U
Pretty essential band.

Augury: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DlWQr8wYvY
Pretty much exactly what you are looking for I think.

Babylon Sad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4E2y0SpK5-c
One of the most sadly under-rated DM bands. Probably because they only made it one album as DM before becoming like Disco or some shit.

diSEMBOWELMENT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QisHmz21OQA
Legends. Gods. Perfection.

Gigan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9V_oago_ntQ
One of the best, if not the best, modern Technical Avant-Garde DM band. Fucking killer stuff.

Mithras: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZoKr7jAB2E
Ugh. UGH. I fucking love this band.

I think these bands cover the "atmospheric" part pretty well, though their heaviness is debatable at times:

Azure Emote: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzHVBzympu8
Disaffected: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZtyPWE-fgU
Lykathea Aflame: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7gj__guTaY

Aevangelist. Nasty, groovy death metal with effective atmospheric keyboard use:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_inArLk8xY,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5zZbPlYg6U

If Godzilla got diarrhea from eating an entire Taco Bell restaurant and a microphone were put up to his anus, this is what it would sound like.

Maybe because they're so obvious?

As for a fast rec, doom/death is usually atmospheric, you should check Runemagick.
