Well, it's just what says on the title but I'll expand the concept:

Melodic metal with a hint of progressive metal reminiscent of the 70`s and 80`s prog. and with some good folky melodies ...

Urd and Universal from Borknagar are good examples, not so much in the Black Metal side but more in the proggy-not-just-wanking-my-fretboard Metal... I've heard that later day Amorphis may fit my request, but I've never been a big fan of them, so if anyone could recommend some of their material that would be great!!

Of course, I'm already a big fan of: Vintersorg, Cronian, Solefald, Artcurus, Ulver, Enslaved, ICS Vortex and the other bands of the members of Borknagar

so... that's it!!

Is Primordial too obvious a rec?

Solstafir and Askival might be to your liking.

Gaalowbraid "Ashen Eidolon" may be what you need, not that prog, but damn good ep
Solstafir seconded

not totally similar but you could try In The Woods... Their first album is more on the BM side (but also fantastic) while their later works went more and more into prog-like territory.

Definitely keeping the Primordial, Gallowbraid and In The Woods in my list... The other bands were definitely good, but not what I'm looking right now

More melodic patterns and clean melodic singing maybe??
(Not necessarily folky in nature)
Thanks a lot! Keep 'em coming!!

You might like Aiumeen Basoa. I think they're pretty proggy and they remind me of In the Woods (with male and female vocals, some black metal screams). Pretty folky, too, with some unexpected influences thrown in here and there.

Nokturnal Mortum
Negura Bunget
Tumulus
Saltus
Munruthel
Odroerir

and maybe Nezhegol, an ultra-obscure Russian Pagan Metal band.
