I gave a listen to Ecocide and they were awesome. Black Metal is strong in this one

Anyway, I'd like to find more stuff similar to Fall of Efrafa. A Soul to Bare is one of my favourite songs and although it isn't a stereotypical FaF song I'd like to see if any other had something similar.

Plus, I'd like to recommend Valpourgia Nyxta (Walpurgis Night) to any person that is interested to Folk-ish punk.

I'm on a vinyl kick, so I haven't gotten around to looking stuff up on my computer, but I look forward to it. Happy you dig Momentum. They have a new album out soon, I think Cvlt Nation has a review up already, hopefully I'll get a press copy soon to review. There's a bunch of dudes from various bands in Momentum, so you might want to look those ones up.

Hey i never really listen to punk before, but i am curious to check it out. I am huge Traditional heavy/speed/power/thrash metal guy. What would be a good 70s or 80's punk band to listen to being a metal fan and being new to punk.

Excuse me sir. You may like English Dogs. Their guitarist was fucking awesome live and I was impressed by his solos. They even have an album called Metalmorphosis: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYsVIGdj ... ABtVfGERru

I'll have to check out that Valpourgia Nyxta cause i'm on a bit of a folk-punk kick lately.

For stuff similar to Fall of Efrafa, you might want to check out Vestiges, or Dead to a Dying World. While those two bands don't have the exact same style as FoE, they are fairly similar and create the same kind of epic atmospheres. Ecocide rules, their new album sounds awesome.

Can anyone recommend me some good crust/death metal like this: http://weald.bandcamp.com/album/demo-2011

Fuck yeah, Weald rules, if you're not already familiar I'd say definitely check out Stormcrow - http://listen.20buckspin.com/album/stor ... s-split-lp

You might also dig Mammoth Grinder - http://mammothgrinderband.bandcamp.com/releases

It should be known that Bolt Thrower isn't "Recommended listening" but "RE-FUCKING-QUIRED"

Why no Sanctum rec's for this?
Also Guided Cradle.

Are you familiar with Lake of Blood at all? They toured with Vestiges a year or so ago and I had the opportunity to see them with Alda at a place called The Autonomia.

It was as awesome as it sounds :D

Lake of Blood, Vestiges, and Alda all at the same show... man that must have been amazing.

@dontlivefastjustdie- Stormcrow & Mammoth Grinder were both awesome.

@FleshMonolith- I liked all of your recs, though I'd have to say Skaven & Black September were my favorites.

I don't know how much their material costs but try Effigy from Japan, really good crust/thrash stuff.

and for more obvious recs you could try Hellbastard and Antisect's "Out from the Void" EP.

Cheers for those, I'll check them out as well :D

Glad you dug em! You should check Hatred Surge's newest album, they've dropped pretty much all hints of powerviolence in favor of way more death metal influence. Might be something you'd dig.

Crust Punk with female singers anyone?

I am late as FUCK to this party, but I strongly recommend:

Appalachian Terror Unit
Besides having an amazing name, this band fucking kills it (and have enough metal influence to be on the archives: http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Appalachian_Terror_Unit/103269). I've seen em play once or twice, and they're really, really good. Pretty heavy on the environmental themes, so if you don't like your crust to be too overtly political, they may not be for you. Plus their stuff is all priced pretty low since they're on Profane Existence.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2Ori6I4epk
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WorBz7qvQOE

Rifle Diet
A Minneapolis band that I've grown to like a LOT. Saw them play last Monday and they blew me away. I think they're due to have a 7" come out soon--on Profane Existence, coincidentally.

I'm late as well, and I think I've already mentioned them once in this thread (part of why I hesitated to make this reply, in fact), but Starved And Delirious were a female-fronted Crust band active in the early 90's who I found out about a few months back and have been kind of obsessed with ever since.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGKY4Zbd6Po

I am in love with that gal's unhinged, snotty vocals!

EDIT: Durr... Speaking of "unhinged", there's another female-fronted Crust band for you:

I am expanding my knowledge on punk/hardcore and was curious what other bands, be it punk, or HC, heavily utilize surf rock tendencies? I have heard many songs using the familiar surf guitar style so I assume their would be an abundance of bands doing this style of music under a sub genre?

Cheers

Welllll... not as many as you would think but there's some out there.

I'd recommend checking out both The Southern Beach Terror and Bleach Boys.

I'd like to know if there is any d-beat or crust punk band that is as crushing as Entombed/Carnage/Dismember/Skitsystem.

I'm aware of Discharge , Onsluaght, and Amebix, but I'm looking for something with more of a death metal tinge.

Nah, I like those albums. "Powerload" isn't my favorite song, but it's not even close to as bad as you're implying.

Check out Disfear and see if you like them.

Also, look into Skitsystem, especially the Stigmata LP.

Steampunk is an utterly retarded thing that has 0 relation to "Punk" culture, music, aesthetics or values.

It's not a genre of music, thought there are "Steampunk" bands who perform a variety of styles, all of which are gimmicky and terrible. SP has more to do with fashion and literature than music, though.

it's actually a cool premise completely ruined by nerds. Basically Victorian era style/time period with absurdly advanced contraptions that rely on old world technologies. But yeah, little, if anything, to do with music.

Any sick bands similar to Jerry's Kids? I want super ridiuclous fast songs, sick drumming with a lot of fills and catchy vocals. Preferably from Boston. Gimme something I won't know.

You make a good point. Those dweeby, obviously-homeschooled "otaku-esque" types suck the cool right out of just about everything (including Metal).

I've never listened to Jerry's Kid, and this is basically a general recommendation to ANYONE in this thread, but Revenge pretty much fits that description. They're from Springfield, MA though not Boston. They are seriously the sickest band I've found in the past few months. They also just dropped an album "Hymns of Annihilation".

Any sick bands similar to Jerry's Kids? I want super ridiuclous fast songs, sick drumming with a lot of fills and catchy vocals. Preferably from Boston. Gimme something I won't know.

Sounds good I'll check them out. You gotta check out Jerry's Kids. Is This My World is so good man.
