Victims - Destroy andRebuild - bit more hardcore influence than Baptists, but a good sound. More like this and Baptists would be appreciated.

Cheers, Mate!

His Hero Is Gone - I'd heard them before, but a great rec based on my liking 'Baptists'. Vocals styling is perfect!

Masakari - Not bad at all, like the vocals and the political lyrics. I'd like just a touch more melody but a decent rec.

Fall of Efrafa - a bit sludgier / doomier than I'd prefer. Need more energy.

From Ashes Rise - Love these guys, have several tracks from 'Nightmares' on my playlist. Good rec.

Disfear - Great find! Especially liked their 'Misanthropic Generation' disc. Great rec, spot on!!

Martyrdod - Loved their sound, good rec!

Hey so I’m looking for like one or two soft sounding hardcore punk bands. It doesn’t necessarily have to be considered hardcore punk, but I’m looking for something relatively fast and catchy (with like cool mean sounding riffs) but with a goofy sound. Been listening to this album a lot lately, and I’m looking for vibes similar to the 3 first songs.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtHe4bc4q70
Vinyl quality is a plus. I like the light buzzsaw tone and how the instruments aren’t too loud.

Also in the same vein, looking for really catchy classic stuff like “Big City Baby”. But with this same sound. Recommend away.

Crevasse has a new one out just now. Wolfbrigade is working on a new record still. Victims has reformed. I tend to be a little behind the times when it comes to crust however so im not quite sure about everything current either.

Some newer crust bands worth checking out
Mutilated Veterans https://mutilatedveterans.bandcamp.com/
Skunk https://skunkcrust.bandcamp.com/album/split-7-with-famine-2016

But all you really need is this old criminally underrated band from Sweden No Security

Currently listening to some japanese crust/thrash https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuvvnnHl4no

Hate to see crust and post hardcore in same title :) that's what defines neocrust and I don't like such music, try Utgard Trolls for some good old fashioned dark and rawk - https://youtu.be/6bGHWT-Wy-M

I'm looking for bands like these. I know next to nothing about punk, but The Shape of Punk to Come is something I've enjoyed since childhood, and Marmozets are another band I've recently found out about. I don't think I'm looking for straight ahead hardcore, or mathcore. But I like the way these bands compose songs that are complicated, but that I can remember. I like that there are harsh vocals as well as clean vocals. I like that I'd just as soon hear a flute or something on The Shape of Punk to Come as I would guitar crunch, but somehow its placement made sense, and didn't seem disjointed or out of character. Any recommendations?

For a long time my favorite band was a sort of Neo Crust Punk band called Fall of Efrafa. They are from England and are based around the book Watership Down. If you like an aggressive sound with some Doom Metal influences i urge you to give them a try. I don't have the body of knowledge to truly describe them and by there third album they sounded completely different from the first but here's to link to my favorite of there songs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBNeMAwC7IA

I would also recommend the band Leper. There sound is a mix of blackened crust and in some of there songs there are ska influences.

I'm looking for fast, angry hardcore punk with preferably intelligent lyrics.

I like MDC and Black Flag.

Noisem as new to me - need to spin 'em a few more times before deciding. May be a bit too grind but too soon to tell.

MG - know those guys, like 'em a lot. Cheers!

Hatred Surge - another new band to me. Good stuff, enjoying them!

Hessian - not my fav, but solid.

Bastard Feast - LOVED THIS! Great rec!

Planks - I liked their sound, def stands out from the others but I'm digging it.

Cheers for the recs, Mate!

The Neighbors and their two EPs "The More Money One Has..." & "Negative Attraction"
Top notch stuff!
For more fast, angry hardcore, check out the Japanese and Finnish hardcore scenes.
No one does it better than these two countries.
Intelligent lyrics? maybe :-D

Blood Command is what you need. A little brighter, poppier, and less complex/'mathy' than either of those bands, but they're an amazing group nonetheless. Female vocals that alternate between screaming and singing, some parts almost remind me of a mix of Kvelertak and Paramore. A pretty strong Refused influence as well. Funeral Beach in particular is an amazing album.

Haha not punk enough for you? :-P
But i don't know, punk rock is not really my thing. A few older ones that are still good today, Rostok Vampires and The New York Rel-X (also female fronted but sings in english) to name two.

What do you consider to be "modern punk rock"?

Ramlord has been stellar over the past few years, as far as blackened crust goes.

Also, I'd recommend checking out Jøtnarr:

that song sounds too much like swedish crust'n roll to me. its a fun song and the new vocalist seems quite good but it lacks what made classic discharge some of the best music ever made.

i actually dont have a lot of crust from the last year or 2. Victims released a new album this year that i havent heard yet, the new jungbluth i havent fully digested yet, forgot all about the new deathrite.
Stuff i do know/appreciate more fully are Halshug, psykkoanalyysi and g.l.o.s.s.

How about punk bands that cross over with metal? Bands like Misfits and The Exploited for example.
