Hey i'm not very good with musical terms, but I'm looking for songs that have that sliding, evil as fuck sound that Slayer does at the end of Postmortem and going into Raining Blood. I'm not sure what the technique is called, but it makes me want to die and go to hell because that is what hell sounds like. I've heard it in other songs, the only one I can think of is Morbid Saint's Halls of Terror at the end of the guitar solo, like 3:10 into the song. Keep in mind I want it to be part of the song, like in Postmortem, not part of an intro like the start of Raining Blood.

Thanks for replying! RZris, that was pretty damn close in that Sororicide song, I wish they could have dragged it out more into a full-blown screech but it still sounded cool. I think the production limited how good it sounded as well, all well it's underground metal what are you gonna do.

And iLamer, that song had it pretty damn close too, I was looking for something a tad lower pitched though. I'm glad you linked that though, Dismember are a band I definitely need to get into. I really enjoyed that song.

I'm pretty sure that's just feedback with some reverb/echo and, especially in the Morbid Saint song, some manipulation via whammy bar.

you'll probably really dig the guitar solos from my band, Angeldeath

www.myspace.com/angeldeath518

Specifically, the solos in "Curse of Enthrallment", "Unholy Ceremonies", "Abominations", and "Call of the Ghoul".

Also, you'll probably like the middle section in "Vile Minions of the Cross" where it goes into this wicked evil doomy Darkthrone groove, which dissolves into chaos before the thrash-groove headbang "chorus".

I hope you like it!

Sadus has a really eerie song that uses these screeches.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuVBUkmmIyU

It's not really a song though, it's more of... I don't know, really. But it's not a proper song, that's for sure. Check it out, only 2mins long.

Well that Sadus song was about spot on, too bad it wasn't really a song... And Angeldeathgreg, your band is pretty cool, the solos were very reminiscent of Slayer for sure. They didn't have the kind of doomy wailing i was looking for, but I enjoyed it nonetheless, particularly the Call of the Ghoul. Hope you find a new drummer!

Yeah, it's pretty much an extended Raining Blood intro
