I was going to post this in one of the much larger help threads but the band I am wondering about seems to be Thrashy blackened death metal. I wasn`t sure where to post it so I just started this thread. I have heard 3 songs from Necrophobic`s latest album "Death To Us All" and I like what I have heard. Especially the song "Revelations 666" wich is a pretty fucking awesome song. I was wondering how good they are(because I am contemplating getting their latest album),and how do they compare to similar bands like Destroyer 666,Skeletonwitch,etc. Also if their are similar bands that you could recommend,that would be a big help. Thank you in advance.

I don't know about the rest of their releases, but The Nocturnal Silence kicks serious ass. It's not exactly in the vein of Destroyer 666 and the usual black/thrash, mostly because it (at least from my memory) doesn't have blastbeats. I'd definitely recommend the album, though. It's excellent.

If I'm not mistaken, their debut is often regarded as the essential Necrophobic album.

Darkside is good, sounds alot like Dissection/Sacramentum/Unanimated

I had a Necrophobic spree a while back and i came to the conclusion that Hrimthursum is their best album (theyre new one is kind of dull, but by no means bad). Vocals are kind of hit or miss for me, but all in all a good band.

Razor of Occam aren't bad either.

I have been listening mainly to "The Nocturnal Silence" and "Hrimthursum" and I think they both kick ass. I am suprised more people don`t listen to Necrophobic. They implement alot of things well into their music. Thrashy Blackened Death Metal...... What more could you need,lol? Still need to check out some of the recs though.
