Not metal for sure, but it occurs to me there might be a few of you here who are well schooled in this particular genre and might be able to help me out.

I'm looking for something similar to Faith & The Muse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYK8xFBhfA4

And any gothic metal that focus on atmospheric, ethereal stuff is welcome too.

I don't know anything about this but Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble of Shadows seems to be appreciated darkwave among some of my friends.

Oh, I love Faith & the Muse.

Some good ones, but some aren't in the archives:

Rhea's Obsession: Nice gothic stuff here

Elend - pretty much anything, but the early stuff has the church-choir feel, with a doomy/gothic atmosphere that is terrific. My favorites are Lecons De Tenebres and Sunwar the Dead.

Atrox - very avante-garde gothic. You may like, but it is really "out there"

Nemesea - Mana

Arcana - Inner Pale Sun; dark stuff with medieval styling

Die Verbannten Kinder Evas - Dusk and Void Become Alive. This is terrific dark/ambient, that still sort of fits in the Elend camp, although both are distinctly unique.

Oneiroid Psychosis for sure, although they're the only real darkwave band I know.

Well they don't have the disco beat but you may like Dargaard and Dark Sanctuary. Those are the only two darkwave bands I am familiar with. Both are quite dark and depressive.

Yes, those two definitely fit the Darkwave bill, I forgot about them. What about Alcest or Ildjarn? A few black influences but still dark.

Hmmm, I've never heard of Ildjarn before, but some of my friends like these guys called Cradle of Filth. They are probobly basically the same.

For all you know...

Well, it's not quite dark wave, but it is an ambient folk mixture that reminds me roughly of what you posted, with tribal beats and a dark yet ambient atmosphere. I think quite a few might dig the middle eastern feel carried with it as well. Knossos is a great band that I've been quite addicted to for the past several weeks.

Knossos: http://www.myspace.com/knossosmusic

Make sure to check out Tarak, since it's the best up on their myspace (imo).

Little off topic but would Suicide Commando be considered Darkwave?

I'm sorry, but CoF is nothing like Idjarn whatsoever.

I second Arcana, Dagaard and Dark Sanctuary.

I'll add: Aythis and Claire Voyant. I've also been meaning to check out these bands in darkwave so you might be interested: Autumn's Grey Solace, Artesia and Love Spiral Downwards
