Totally different style of Metal(old style Death Metal),but I find the lyrics to Diabolic's song"Failed Extraction" interesting. The song is from their Subterraneal Magnitude album.

I think a huge majority of metal bands deal with these things at least in some manner. Religious and fictional myths can definitely go under that. I think you need to be more specific in what you're looking for.
