Title says it all really. I'm looking for folk metal bands with a similar sound to the English band Forefather or Ensiferum.

The themes of the bands must also be about the same sort of things (War, Heathen themes ect). I don’t want any power metal with a violin in though where the guys sings about Vikings.

It’s got to have the Folk sort of melody to the music but (if possible) without having a huge amount of acoustic stuff. Harsh Vocals are essential as is the fact the words must be in English.

For Ensiferum, Equilibrium is a Must Have. Lyrics in German, though.

Maybe you'll like Slechtvalk - At The Dawn of War.

Nope neither of them is really what I'm after.

The Lyrics must be in english. This is a persinol thing of mine that I have to understand the Lyrics.

Also I proberly should have said that I dont want black metal with a little bit of folk added on.

Wolfchant - A Pagan Storm is what you're looking for.

I don't know if they are maybe too BM based but you should at least have an ear at:

Askival - "Eternity" ( http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=226943 )

Art least I personally put it in the same direction as Forefather and it contains some absolutely great harsh Folk/BM stuff!

Man your missing out with Equilibrium, great stuff.

I'll recommend Tyr, and Dominia, although Dominia are more black metal with violins.

It also sounds like he says "The raven licks my asshole" as the first vocal line there. It never fails to crack me up.
