Hey everyone.
I'm looking for more bands that use different vocals through their songs, kinda like Antaeus uses some low gurgles from time to time, and like Funeral Mist does.

Not looking for bands that sometimes use clean vocals like Ulver did.

Hope someone knows of something, and thanks in advance. :)

Not sure what genre you're looking for, but Carcass, Exhumed, The County Medical Examiners, other Carcass-worship bands, Nile might be up your alley.

Frightmare, maybe?

EDIT: Why didn't I say Macabre? The lead singer, Corporate Death, is able to growl, scream, and screech like a madman. He can also do cool thrash metal and hardcore vocals.

Kataklysm - Temple Of Knowledge

Maybe even the best Death Metal album ever. Nothing like new Kataklysm albums. Sylvian Houde was and always will be the best Death Metal vocalist.

Psycroptic with Matthew Chalk might be the best example. Akercocke uses cleans, but Mendonca uses a large variety of harsh vocals as well. Also, Strapping Young Lad, Unexpect and Wormed might fit the bill.

Some bands that scream and growl?

Exhumed (death/grind)
Brain Drill (tech/death)
Disfiguring The Goddess (brutal death metal/deathcore)
Suicide Silence (deathcore)
Chelsea Grin (deathcore)
Waking The Cadaver (Deathcore/goregrind/slam)
The Black Dahlia Murder (melodeath)

Mystifier's "The World is so Good that Who Made it Doesn't Live Here" utilizes death grunts, black metal croaks, and operatic wails.

yum.

Impaled uses 3 vocals most of the time. Growls, Screams, and some weird growls Ross Sewage manages to do.

You will maybe like Marduk - Rom 5:12. Mortuus from Funeral Mist sings on that album.

I already recommended you Kataklysm's Temple Of Knowledge. Believe me, it is one of the best albums ever. Vocals are insane. You'll probably like Obituary's "Cause of Death", especially first song "Infected". It has some really sick vocals. It is also Death Metal, but one of the best.

Thanks, Obituary was nice, I liked the vocals which reminds me abit about Chuck Schuldinger, Kataklysm didnt really fetch me though.
Was nice to hear what I checked out of Marduk also, as I have previously linked Marduk to nothing else than monotone blastbeat overuse.

I don't know what genre you want, but Landmine marathon is a Death/Thrash band and they have some of my favorite vocals. It's a female lead singer and there is like a really good growler. Definately worth checking out.

Ayreon uses a different vocalist for each character.

Hammers of Misfortune should definitely be what you're looking for.

Not to sure what you want though....

I don't know what exactly you're looking for, but Extreme Noise Terror has a dual vocalist thing going on. The only album I know of and have by them is Back to the Roots that Moshpit Tragedy Records put out (Which you can also download for free), which is a compilation of their crust/grind stuff, I only know of them as a crust/grind band myself, but they're fairly metallic. Otherwise, they wouldn't be on MA, hehe.

Some early Napalm Death has those insane screams that just seem to come out of nowhere.

Disarmonia Mundi second and third album has all the members doing vocals. I love the band for that reason.

Aura Noir. They're awesome.

Don't know if you can stomach crust, but Extreme Noise Terror is a guilty pleasure that I enjoy immensely...provided it's their earlier material. Laters works were generic grind.

And there's Gorerotted, but I think they suck.

Different vocals? Its not very clear what exactly you are looking for, but, Mastodon's members all sing in their work, and all of their voices are pretty different, though they do have clean vocals. Hope this helps .

If you don't mind Melodic Black Metal, Fairytale Abuse and Chthonic might be up your alley.
Benighted is a great Brutal Death Metal band with Grindcore and Black Metal influences in their songs (and hip hop at the end of Grind Wit ) and Julien Truchan makes it sound like there are several vocalists. The first two albums especially have the black metal elements.

Ceremonial Castings should be up your alley in that case. Though calling them black metal would be wrong, as they have symphonic, melodic dm and thrash elements.

Well then, my Mastodon suggestion helps you in no way  But, I agree with WetPussy, C.C. has parts with high, typical black metal vocals, and parts with low, guttural, almost death metal sounding vocals.

Try Nausea. They're not really metal though, more like crust punk.

Not sure what style of music you want, but the following bands use 2 vocalists and haven't been mentioned yet:

Gorerotted
3 Inches of Blood

Sear. The vocalist goes from deep growls to black metal snarls and shrieks, occasionally overdubbed for effect. One of the best extreme metal vocalists out there.

People are probably tired of me recommending Auðn, but they're a good choice for a black metal band with a range of vocals. Lower growls, higher shrieks, and anguished wails.
