Any bands who at least in part sound like Obliveon's Technocranivore Motormouth...the perfect mix of dark cyber thrash riffing, killer groove, futuristic gothic sci-fi atmosphere and that rare commodity called songwriting...
I have been searching for the last 10 years and have yet to find any such outfit..alas

Don't now the band you're talking about, but I always had a soft spot for the Sfi-Fi thrash on "Machinery" by No Return
