Hmm.. I think this thread isn't in the right place... Well first, are you actually looking for recommendations ? or more like you want to discuss... ?

Anyway, I think that Spiral Architect/Spastic Ink should be alot more recognized, they bring something awesome/unique and very ''technical'' to the genre.

Sorry, I guess I should have specified. I'm looking for good tech/prog bands that never got the recognition they deserved. Kind of a weird request I know.
