Hey, I'm looking for some brutal ass slamming death metal, that is good quality music with good recording behind a good label, preferrably.

Cemetery Rapist, Cesspool of Vermin, Goremonger, Devourment, and Insidious Decrepancy are good examples of what I mean.

Cephalotripsy, Guttural Engorgement, Gorevent, Despondency, Orchidectomy, Vulvectomy, Putridity, Abominable Putridity, Inveracity, Disavowed, Defeated Sanity. All worth looking into with moderate to large slam influences. Plenty more that can't be remembered now, but i suggest just doing the myspace 'friends' rounds to find new artists.

Just listen to Defeated Sanity. Don't bother with the simplistic Vulvectomy type slam.

Endorsed. Slam is a genre I can rarely tolerate, but DS do a lot of things with it that are well outside the norm.

Saprogenic, Atrocious Abnormality and Despondency (The German one) are the only slam bands I know.

Then go back to where it all started to get better acquainted: Internal Bleeding, Dehumanized, Disfigured (NY), Scattered Remnants, and plenty more.

Dysentery, Vomit Remnants, Infected Malignity, Stabwound, Degrade, Abysmal Torment (production is a bit weak on the new album), Corporectomy (only an EP but it rules), Soils Of Fate, Vulvectomy, Orchidectomy, Wormed, Human Mincer (not really slam but close and fucking great).

EDIT: fuck I forgot Guttural Secrete!

Shit, I love that band! @OP: Check out Guttural Secrete's "Reek of Pubescent Despoilment" album. I think you might like it.

What about Purulent or Amputated Genitals from Colombia? I was messing around on Last.fm using Putrid Pile as the band seed and ended up finding them. I don't really know enough about slam to know if they are pure slam or not, but they seem to definitely have some leanings towards it.

I was going to say check out Guttural Secrete, Wormed and Jig Ai, as those three bands are weirdly popular among people that don't really like brutal death metal, but I see that you're already pretty well versed in brutal/slam death and probably already know those bands (and, like me, probably don't understand their popularity).

Check out Extremely.Rotten.Flesh from Colombia - excellent material, very heavy and with a good strong production job.

Similar deal with Poppy Seed Grinder, and also Ancient Necropsy (although you might already be familiar with those).

Also, the new Devourment album is gonna blow everyone away when it comes out.

I would second Abominable Putridity, In The End Of Human Existence kicks my ass every time I listen to it. But I can usually only withstand a few tracks of music that dumb haha

Well Ive had a fascination with Slam lately so Il use this threads to get some recommendation instead of making a new one.

I am very picky when it comes to slam. I absolutely love the music behind most Slam bands. I love the grooves and breakdowns. I love the imense heaviness. Abominable Putridity is a perfect example of awesome music but the vocals are so repetative and annoying. Overall the vocals in Slam tend to turn me off. Ive never been a huge fan of the burping/sink drain/pig squeeling vocals but Im slowly accepting them a little more. Most of the Slams bands I like are the border line Brutal Death bands (Pathology, Disgorge, Inveracity, Infernal Revulsion). I am looking for some Slam bands with more varried vocals. Any good suggestions?

Defeated Sanity is essential.

Also check out a Lovectartian-themed band called Yogth Sothoth.

Anyways, OP, along with many of the awesome bands that have already been recommended, I'll add Condemned, Artery Eruption, and Sect Of Execration.

It seems like most bands have been mentioned already. Slam is such an inbred genre, all are clones of Devourment and keep copying each other. The new albums by Infernal Revulsion and Vomit The Soul should please many slam seekers here. Not 100% pure slam but in the same vein at least.

You need to check out all these albums.

Gorevent – Abnormal Exaggeration (Awesome Slam with super crunchy production)

Cerebral Incubation - Asphyxiating On Excrement (thick chugging Slamming Death)

Aversion To Life – Ritualized Murder (Awesome album with no so good production)

Ingested – Surpassing The Boundaries of Human Suffering (less Slammy but fucking killer)

Guttural Secrete – Artistic Creation With Cranial Stumps (more Slammy than ROPD but an MCD)

Inveracity – Circle of Perversion (more Slammy than Extermination of Millions)

Ingested Crepitation Kastrated - North-West Slam Fest (Split)

Vomit Remnants - Indefensible Vehemence

Just like to say the drum sound is terrible on this album. Sounds like it's farted out by a robot.

Uh, no. First of all, brutal death and slam aren't the same thing. Second, Yogth Sothoth don't use slams.

A slamming riff in one or two songs doesn't make it a slam band.

Oh... Alright.

But it's quite possible that thread starter would appreciate Yoght Sothoth as a suggestion, too... Wouldn't you agree? I mean the resemblance between Brutal Death with a few slam riffs and slam metal in general is arguably big, wouldn't you say?

Actually I don't think I agree. I mean yeah they are similar (and I'm sure OP will appreciate YS) but to me slam death metal stands out from "regular" brutal death. It has a very different kind of rhythm to it. Slower and groovier, while brutal death is faster and more shredding.

The OP asked for slam, we give him slam. It's as simple as that.

Rest In Gore, Digested Flesh, and Down From The Wound would probably suit your tastes. Corpse Carving and Mutilated are also good.

yeah, the production is really clean and sterile, which is a shame cos some of the songs on there are fantastic. Looking up the North-West Slam-Fest split CD these guys did with Crepitation and Kastrated might be worthwhile, similar tunes but with a much rawer production for greater face flaying power.
