Really? That is a bummer. I got The Isolation EP and the red version of their split with Insect Warfare. Definitely one of my favorite grind bands.

Whatever track they released online that was gonna be on their new LP was fast and awesome, sucks to hear the 7" is like that.

That's good to hear. This comes in a recycled paper sleeve with no jacket and just the logo printed on the sleeve. Might be just some one-off laying around they figured to put out.

Nearly unrecognizable from that style. (i'm a big fan of that stuff too, also loved when they had a female singer.

One of the Hatred Surge songs from that 7" is actually up on their bandcamp, http://hatredsurge.bandcamp.com/

I didn't think it was that bad, but then again that might be cause I knew what to expect.

At least it was only $5

A bit ago someone brought up dethroned emperor who really speak to me as a black/death band more than a grind band. But i was wondering, how many of you grinders like bands in that vein? Conqueror's War Cult Supremacy grinds harder than most grind bands today.

I find myself enjoying more newer releases from the Blasphemy/Conqueror styled bands than I do grindcore as a whole. The latest Revenge and Knelt Rote albums are probably my favorite releases from 2012. James Read is the master of beating the shit out of a drumkit.

Don't get me wrong, the new Knelt Rote is fantastic, but I wish they would've kept some more grind in there, they're pretty much just a death metal band at this point. Insignificance had the proportions just right.

And Dethroned Emperor totally have that Terrorizer influence, you guys are deaf.

There's nothing "pretty much death metal" about Trespass, though I do find that it's more atmospheric than the previous stuff. Maybe they'll change it up a little on future releases...all I know is that so far, anything the band does will rule.

Well I mean it certainly is mostly death metal, though I meant it's not an ordinary death metal release by a long shot. "Pretty much death metal" makes me think of your everyday, "status quo" Swedeath band. I hear everything from Niden Div. 187 to Assuck (just a little, with those brutal, dissonant, shredded power chord riffs) in that record, both of which were hardly by-the-numbers bands. I'd really like to catch them live sometime, I hear they're definitely something to behold outside of their studio efforts.

My favorite albums of 2012 are up. Seems like some grindcore got in there

http://perpetualstrifemusic.blogspot.co ... -2012.html

Oh and Knelt Rote, even their older stuff has a heavy wash of "war metal." I agree I wish Trespass had a bit more of a grind feel to it, but it's still quite great. But as far as I'm concerned I'd call it, as well as the band, a black/death metal band that has more in common with Conqueror, Revenge, etc than Assuck or Napalm Death.

Thanks dogg, saw your list as well. Some good shit. If i get some cash through the holidays or work picks up I'm going to have to dump a lot on records. I see NWN is having a 25% off sale. I wanna grab that Knelt Rote, but that label has so much shit I can't find anything else to order.

Oh I knew that! Hmm, well, I'm assuming you have the Revenge and Conqueror stuff...that new Wrathprayer album was pretty cool (if a bit overrated), then there's the last Teitanblood EP or whatever format it was with that awesome new song of theirs on it. The Grave Upheaval/Manticore split was awesome, especially the last song on the Grave Upheaval side. And I can't forget the Adversarial/Antediluvian split. There's more they have that's worth buying, but I'm not 100% on where your tastes lie when it comes to the stuff that label usually puts out.

Haha there's some stuff in there worth having... that Adversarial/Antideluvian split Dragunov mentioned for sure... and that last Blasphemophager record "The III Command of the Absolute Chaos" is rad as fuck. Axis of Advance is pretty boss too, though I haven't heard the LP NWN has... but they might fall into your "shitty black metal" category. I linked one of their other records below that's pretty rad for black metal. There's a Carcass live record that looks pretty boss too just from a cursory glance.

I'll check out blasamongerdonkeykongkingkong. As for aoa, like them. The shit I'm referring to is crap like hadez or anonymous black metal that's been done to death. Carcass sucks, there I said it. Didn't care for the antediluvian split all that much or that manticore one( who I just saw live with dephagio and boy was that a joke). Bands like conqueror are good, but so many imitators are beyond awful.

I will omit your comment about Carcass from the record as a comment made in the grip of madness beyond reason and logic.

The only Carcass I ever listen to is Symphonies of Sickness and the Peel Session stuff. Maybe a few tracks from Reek but other than that I could totally live without them. I tend to like stuff like Regurgitate and Haemorrhage more.

Also, you two have probably already heard this from the TLAL boards, but for those who haven't: ND's "Mentally Murdered" EP played on 33

Sounds like porno grind slowed down.

My favorites have to be

Tom's never sounded so good, also that guitar is fucking awesome. That chugga chugga after the intro blows my shit apart.

Then there's this one, Sludgetallica

Used to listen to Cannabis Corpse' Tube of the Resinated on 45 instead of 33. Shit sounds like Absu at times with goofy vocals.

Big fan of playing Coffins at 45. Shit's fucking insane.

Oh and blasphmongerkonggokusupersayinvegeta wasn't bad. Nothing worth spending $15 bucks on though.

Despite their new one being awesome, I'm partial to Blasphemophagher's first two albums so maybe give those a go too. Not sure how readily available a physical copy of those albums are nowadays, though.

Listened to the Tumor Feast stuff I have a little bit ago. Love this stuff, some of the only powerviolence I can get into. Now only if there were more songs minus the hip hop parts...

Ugh... hip hop parts/samples = no fucking go... with VERY few exceptions. And not because that shit ruins good tunes for me but it seems like the majority of bands that use hip hop samples or whatever just happen to also sound like garbage to me.

See, with Plutocracy's stuff it doesn't bother me because it flows inoffensively with the album, or the samples are short enough to ignore. Most other stuff is the exact opposite and is a pain to listen to. I like hip hop, but don't ruin the flow of awesome jams just because.

Haha Plutocracy is definitely one of the few exceptions to the rule. No ass kicking necessary!

my man. Yeah, some bands can rock it well, helps if you're from LA. When Magrudergrind opened for Despise You here in Brooklyn they played Mobb Deep. I can get down with that. But I agree if it's random samples it could be as bad as an Opeth acoustic guitar break.
