Cephalic Carnage - Anomalies and Xenosapien: Varied tech grind with a wealth of different influences. Though, I'm sure you've heard of them

Crowpath - Son of Sulphur: Some of the most unique and creative drumming I've ever come across on a grind album. Not too many blastbeats as I can recall, but a truly off the wall, and creative performance.

Antigama - Warning and Resonance: In a word, insane. Again, extremely varied drumming with tempos almost verging on mathcore here.

Insect Warfare- World Extermination. Best grindcore album since Pig Destroyer's Prowler in the Yard.

Pig Destroyer- Prowler in the Yard. Disgusting, crazy, amazing riff work, some of my favorite drumwork; perfect. Must listen. Outside the box of grindcore with attention to guitarwork, imagery, atmosphere and crazy vocals.

Looking For an Answer- Eterno Treblinka. Death metal influenced grind that's super heavy and powerful. Animal rights ethos like Cattle Decap.

Afgrund-Vid Helvetets Grindar. ploished grindcore with catchy and memorable guitarwork, great vocals, and dynamic songwriting.

Swarrrm- Nise Kyuseishu Domo. As crazy and multi-faceted as grindcore gets. one of my favorite bands. Vocals are completely insane, guitarowkr jumps from grind to jazzy and melodic. the drumwork is top notch and jazz influenced. If you could only listen to one recomendation I'd suggest this.

Just wondering, how popular is stuff like Warsore here? I can't get enough of them.

Finally. Some grind. I don't get how people name Cephalic Carnage as grindcore. Just as Hatred Surge/Nails..Which are both hardcore.

more punk than anything. it's pretty good but it's not grindcore to me.. hell after 4mins of listening and I don't hear a goddamn blast beat... you are doing something wrong.

yea yea grindcore steams from punk. go take a listen to it. I didn't hear anything that specifically pushed it into grindcore territory. There is still a difference between punk and grindcore though they have the same roots. grindcore kinda needs some blasting to be considered grindcore. I didn't say it needed to totally be blasting. you are reaching and streaching what I stated so you can make a piss poor arguement against plain fact.

Besides, grindcore has no fucking rules.

Except for that one rule that generally encourages the use of blastbeats.

Haha, mine came Saturday too, interestingly enough. Too bad I slept in too long and had to wait until today to get it. But the dude threw in four free splits and two issues of his zine. So no complaints. Also, my copy is still sealed. Good shit.
