It's a unique album, all things considered. The ominous, Gothic yet still relatively cheap sounding MIDI keyboards can be found in gothic metal acts such as Abysmal Grief or Opera IX. And there is the crunchy, groove metal influenced riffing that nevertheless doesn't make the music any less grim. At the end of the day, this is a doomy black metal album with its own special characteristics. Are there any other bands that tried such a thing?
