Two new stoner discoverings:

KREMLIN
Cool and warm stoner/ space rock from Finland.
The music has a good atmosphere and some great vocals!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSCyTmNk87U

HOLY MOUNT
Stoner rock meets space rock from Canada.
Quite energetic and space at the same time.

Hey guys, i am looking for songs like Dread Sovereign - We wield the spear of longinus, Black sabbath - war pigs, etc. Long songs, slooow, and just has moments of melody to go with the depressive atmosphere. I have not dug deep in doom but I really love the type of songs like the above so sorry if this is to vague.

Cheers

What about Electric Wizard's Funeralopolis? More Stoner than doom but man, what a song.

Or what about some slower songs with a whole lotta atmosphere like Swallow the Sun's 7 Hours Late?

Again a great atmosphere but a bit faster. Triptykon - Shatter

One of my personal favorites with "The Beauty and the Beast" vocals. Draconian's Death Come Near Me

If we stick to the trad doom scene - to which your references point out- I can suggest three bands that plays it slow, solemn and heavy:
Gallow God: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4NcOHsPBSk
Temple of Pain: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lytSuWLOShI
Fangtooth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4npxUuvlCE (where slow begins to sound listless...)
Crypt Sermon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spfXao0s4p8 (maybe the closest to Dread Sovereign I can think of, although it's more traditional, one could say, more melodic - I like Dread Sovereign better myself)

I recommend for other folks to listen to Wizard Union, and Blind Haven for two bands who release engaging doom metal, reminiscent of Electric Wizard, but infused with the attitude and flair that Discharge, and Amebix protrude from their music.

1. Wizard Union:
A. Bandcamp: Wizard Union's Bandcamp profile is located at this URL, where their first EP, Smoking Coffins (2014) may be streamed, or purchased.
B. Metal-Archives: Wizard Union's Encyclopaedia Metallum profile, where one can view more information about the band, and their music.

Wizard Union released their first EP, Smoking Coffins, in 2014, and consistently performs live concerts around the northeast-Ohio, and central-Michigan areas. Wizard Union synchronizes Discharge's bombastic d-beat rhythm with an aggressive and stylistically intact style of stoner doom metal, redolent of Electric Wizard, and Sleep. The guitar rhythms synergize with the percussion and vocal style, presenting the listener with a enjoyable style of doom metal, infused with a noticeable dose of d-beat attitude.

2. Blind Haven:
A. Bandcamp: Blind Haven's Bandcamp profile where their first full-length album, Obey - Worship - Decay (2015), and their self-titled follow-up EP can be streamed, and purchased.
B. Metal-Archives: Blind Haven's Encyclopaedia Metallum profile, where one can view more information about the band, and their music.

Blind Haven's style of doom metal is intrinsically tied to Eyehategod's style of doom metal; d-beat driven, aggressive, and performed with a faster tempo than most bands tied to this sub-genre of heavy metal. Blind Haven's style of doom metal is laden with pronounced guitar rhythms played with melodies reminiscent of early-Black Sabbath. Not to mention, Blind Haven is a great band to experience in a live setting.

I'm neck deep in blisteringly fast tech/brutal death, recent deathcore (I know, I know), newer speed/heavy metal, weird obscure black metal atm but I would love to branch out into more downtempo stuff. Sludge/ stoner/ doom, suggest me suitable bands from these genres considering my addiction to impossible tempos. Also if anyone could kindly explain how exactly do they differ from one another esp. confused about sludge. Thanks in advance.

For some "brutal" doom, maybe try something inbetween black and doom like

RORCAL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfzdwKN2hBw

or mixing doom with grind like

Clinging to the Trees of a Forest Fire: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V18cTvMiJqY

Howdy folks, I'm looking for some good ol southern doom/stoner/sludge metal bands. I'm really into Weedeater, Eyehategod, Hail!Hornet, Bongzilla and Sourvein where that southern influence really comes through. So who am I missing out on? Thanks in advance!

Down, Corrosion of Conformity, Crowbar, Superjoint Ritual are in the same NOLA southern/sludge metal scene.

Orange Goblin, Valient Thorr, Red Fang are more stoner oriented bands that you might like.

Can anybody recommend some doom or stoner metal that is totally in the vein of Black Sabbath? My favorite doom metal has always been the more traditional Black Sabbath, Candlemass, Sleep, first Electric Wizard album, Solitude Aeturnus, stuff like that. I prefer an emphasis on the riffs and more melodic vocals. I'm looking to expand my doom and stoner metal horizons, so I'm game for anything.

Since you like Candlemass and Solitude Aeturnus, check out Scald - Will of the Gods is Great Power. The production is kinda thin, so the guitars don't really have the same oomph as some of the bands you mentioned. The vocals are outstanding though. It's in my top 5 doom albums of all time.

Does drone metal count as a subgenre of doom metal? Hopefully I'm in the right thread. So I know Earth and Sunn O))) but there's gotta be more drone metal out there. Any help?

I think you're in the right thread. As for the recs:

How about Boris and Khanate? They both have drone elements for sure along with other influences as well.

Which albums should I listen to? I've heard Boris' Flood album which I like a lot but I guess I wouldn't classify it as drone. Very beautiful album though. I've heard that Boris' discography has a very wide variety of styles so maybe I'm in the wrong time range for them?

The new Wretch album would be good, it's short too. Beelzefuzz as well, very upbeat doom/rock.

Havent tried Wretch yet, but Beelzebub is almost perfect. Any bands similar, but also a little heavier?

Maybe Doctor Smoke and Demon Eye? Uncle Acid too, of course but that's a bit obvious. Cathedral's groovy stuff would also be good for the gym.

Cauchemar also fits the upbeat/short song request but they're not for everyone.

This was a big suprise, loved the first self titled album. Love Sex Machine is a bit more Black on this but still crushing filthy sludge. Slow and heavy!

And these two have not been mentioned in this thread.

And Full Blown Aids don't get mentioned enough, the best thing Seth Putnam ever did!

Yoooooo, doom people! I'm looking for stuff that sounds like Alice in Chains at their heaviest and most miserable (think Black Gives Way to Blue or the self titled), but with female vocals. Anything like that out there?

What you're asking doesn't really exist but I'll give you some recs of heavy as fuck doom fronted by women. Oh and Kylesa are excellent but perhaps not what you're looking for. You could check out these 2 albums Static Tension and Ultraviolet though

Acid King certainly has the psych aspect of later days AIC and Lori (guitar/vox) is a badass.
Full album (you should probably skip the intro):

Windhand are certainly grunge fans and they're certainly miserable. You will probably think the vocals are too buried because they are but dem riffs.

Horehound are also a quite decent rec for bludgeoning American doom/stoner.

That's it for now.

Tasty, tasty recs! I'll check 'em all out once I get back from work and provide feedback.

Also, it's really quite strange there aren't very many AIC worship bands out there, given their popularity. Mayhaps their formula is too unique, despite its simplicity.

EDIT: Aight, so Acid King didn't do much for me, but Kylesa, Horehound and especially Windhand I'm digging a lot. The latter reminds me a lot of the eponymous AIC album, which is almost exactly what I was looking for. Neither Horehound nor Kylesa are especially grungy, but I like 'em. I accidentally stumbled upon Static Tensions, and damn, shit hits you like a truck!

Thanks for the recs, guys

Well, there are, if you aren't specifically looking for AiC-esque sound with female voice. Hangman's Chair don't get much attention but they are one of the few sludgy misanthropic AiC influenced bands out there.
