A very simple request: swedish DM with deep growls and keyboards that sounds evil and chaotic. I'm not looking for melodeath, but some melodic moments could be nice.

Not as easy as it may sound though, Swedish DM with keyboards but no melodeath. Do try Crypt Of Kerberos though, they might do the trick as they're close enough to OSDM and have a good use of keys.

Not close enough for what I'm looking for, but fits in my criteria. Something more brutal and chaotic would be perfect.

I guess this depends on how "Swedish"-sounding you require your Swedish death metal to be, but what about Pan.Thy.Monium?

Amazing! And I don't even like prog or Avant-garde metal too much. A really nice found.
Something in the vein of Evocation or Entrails with keyboards, OSSDM with a clean production... guess this really isn't an easy request.

I thought about saying Edge Of Sanity or Pan.Thy.Monium as well but those bands are usually "one or the other" rather than the two together. I'm talking about Swedish DM and keyboards that is. But if you liked Pan.Thy.Monium I guess you could also check out EOS.

I am looking for more DM like this
Spoiler: show

I'm not a expert on death metal so I don't really know what to call this exactly. I do know that I don't want anything that is super brutal though.

Hello, guys!
I've been into Deicide a lot lately. And here's the thing. I want to see their earlier video stuff. I've found some on youtube. It's awful. In a very bad sense of a word.
So here's the question. What gigs (live videos ets) are there in good quality? I don't mean performance quality (it's a very subjective subject) only about quality of a record itself.

It doesn't have to be Deicide. I also like Death, Morbid Angel, CC, Suffocation, ND etc. (old school DM).

Anyone know any bands that have lyrical themes about war in a more 'neutral' light? Not idealizing either side for being right, or nationalistic pride or anything but just atrocities of war shown as they are. It was mostly this first song on The Western Front that had me searching, as it puts this in a very neutral light indeed, and I couldn't remember the last time the lyrics I was reading weren't putting one side in a brighter light. Would be good if it specifically mentioned nationalities.

Buried Behind the Lines
"His uniform is German, my rifle sights have spotted many
Not for want has my bolt hit home, my trigger squeezed asunder
They are no personal enemy of mine, the German Private soldier
I've shared a beer with one back home in simpler times Down Under

So I feel I must write to the parents of this Soldier
Give him a proper funeral, for his honor as well as mine
Tell them I knew him not but felt sad for this grinning corpse
And mark a map where he was buried within the Australian lines"

There's the brazilian Death/Thrash Holocausto, if you are ok with lyrics in portuguese.

I'm looking for some old-school melodic death/black metal (i.e., from the 90's) that's not Swedish. Actually, don't give me any Greek bands either, because I'm aware of a few of them.

Maybe Hecate Enthroned, and Catamenia. And The Elysian Fields debut album, just in case...

Is there any death metal with cheesy/catchy riffs. I mean VERY cheesy, like even more than black metal ones.
Something like Kvelertak, Nachtimystium, and stuff but... death metal instead?

I'm not sure what this even means. "Cheesy" doesn't really mean anything.

Does anyone have a recommendation for some melodic death metal , but looking for some without the growl vocals?
Something melodic like before the dawn or wolfheart, or insomnium but with cleaner vocals ?

Actually I don't even mind if the band is serious or not haha.
But I think even Dethklok isn't catchy enough. \:

Oh, iamntbatman, I meant with addicting riffs, something that stays stuck into your head after listening, that makes you want to hear more.
Like Nachtmystium's riffs, but death metal.

Kalmah, perhaps? They have some really catchy (and, for that matter, cheesy) riffing going on.

Been unsuccesfully looking for bands with as heavy and rough riffing as these guys on the first 30 secods of the clip. The ones I've come accross are either too dark/black in athmosphere or are lacking the sort of "brutal rumbling" these guys have. So yeah, all help would be much appreciated.

I'm looking for DM with a strong presence of tremolo picking riffs, as in Arch Enemy's Beast of Man, or Malevolent Creation's Tasteful Agony. Thanks in advance

Nocturnal Torment? They're the first band I thought of when I listened to that clip.

Does anyone know death metal bands that have a heavily crust influenced sound? Musically, not vocally. The only band that comes to my mind is Lawless, but if it could have more of a crusty sound, that would be awesome.

Thanks for the reply, though this band is a bit too dark and oldschool for my taste, as well as missing the sort of full on double bass beats I'm looking for.

From a few days ago but I just stumbled upon Belgium's Excess of Cruelty, who do the Dissection/Sacramentum/Unanimated thing really fucking well.

For all I know these guys are a household name, but this is my first exposure to them and I'm already in love.

In that case, check out Bombs of Hades (kinda similar to Bastard Priest):

And Sanctum, who are similar to Stormcrow but have even more Bolt Thrower-ish vibes:

SO recently i just discovered this band Burning Skies and i gotta say im really digging em

Even though they're labeled as deathcore, and aside from from the vocals, they just sounds like beefed up crossover to me. So how about some similar stuff like this?
