Mille sounds pretty venomous on Pleasure To Kill, Extreme Aggression and Coma Of Souls. Musically, Pleasure To Kill is probably more in line with what you're looking for. Demolition Hammer, Epidemic Of Violence has all-around pissed off vocal work. Also, I think it's worth mentioning Nicole Lee on Act Of God. That's pretty much the definition of venomous. Eliminator, Breaking The Wheel has some supremely angsty vocals, too. There's a ton of really great screams and yells on that album. Also, Sadus is a good example of pissed off, too. Check out Death To Posers, Chemical Exposure and Swallowed In Black. Also, Ultra-Violence, Privilege To Overcome sounds fairly pissed off. Vektor uses a really throaty, snarly style. I'm not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but give them a shot as well. Outer Isolation is a bit more in line with what you're asking. Also, check out Warbringer, Worlds Torn Asunder. Also, Whiplash's Ticket To Mayhem may be in line with what you're looking for. Really loud, throaty screams. Evil Army's self-titled has a lot of throaty vocal work as well. They're crossover as well, so I'm not sure if that's your thing. Also, Battlecross' War Of Will is pure venomous screaming.

Sorry dude, I was just flipping through my library and marking stuff as it came up. Sorry if that's a little too much.

SADUS have probably the most aggressive vocals in all of thrash history.

Have you guys ever heard of False Prophet? http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Fal ... iscography Reason why I'm asking is because Stormspell Records is releasing a remastered version of the band's only full length, Second Death. In my humble opinion the band could a better job of trimming the fat off they're songs. The album is 45 minutes long with only 6 songs so they could of either had more songs on the album or just shorten the length of the songs.

This is going to be another fairly generic request, however, I'm looking for something specific. I'm looking for thrash bands that mix either black or death (or both), but instead of the typical raspy-harsh vocals (Demolition Hammer, Blood Tsunami, Noisem etc.) I'm looking for ones that utilize a deeper death growl. Something similar to Suffocation, Immolation or Bolt Thrower style vocals.

Hmmm... these all mix a lot of death metal in their thrashing, or thrashing in their death metal... but use low vocals primarily.

Coffin Dust - http://coffindust.bandcamp.com/album/an ... uried-evil

Mangled - http://borisrecords.bandcamp.com/album/sewer-metal-7

You might dig my band Spewtilator. There's a good bit of high vocals in there but plenty of thrashing with low vocals as well.

Probably known, but Vomitor? They get labelled as death metal quite often and intentionally try to play it, but they basically just have thrash riffs.

Thanks dude! Glad you dug the tunes. Coffin Dust has a full length, "This Cemetery, My Kingdom" coming out Feb 18th on Unholy Anarchy Records. Matt sent me the tracks a while back and it's a total ripper so keep an eye out for it! Spewtilator has another EP coming out on Boris Records Feb 14th!

What are Sodom best's outputs? Also, did they turn into mediocrity just like some other thrash metal bands did in the 90's? I've just heard their first EP and first full length album so far and wonder where to go from there.

Sodom has a few stinkers from the nineties, but Better Off Dead, Code Red and Tapping The Vein are prime Sodom.

I notice that no-one answered this. The answers are:
Vio-Lence: "Eternal Nightmare" and "Oppressing the Masses"
Sacred Reich: "Ignorance"
Forbidden: "Forbidden Evil", "Twisted Into Form

Thanks!

I've been listening to Sacred Reich's "Surf Nicaragua" recently...and that is my favorite record by them, I think. Check it out if you haven't. Great 'War Pigs' cover despite it being over-done in recent years, theirs was among if not the first thrash cover of the song.

Sodom wasn't too bad in the 90s. Obsessed by Cruelty and Persecution Mania are my favourites by them although AgentOrange, Tapping the Vein and M16 are generally listed amongst their best.

Somebody mentioned Epidemic in this thread not long ago, and I want to say I checked them out because I said, "what the hell!" This might be one of my new favorite brutal thrash records. I thought I hit the bottom of the barrel when I discovered bands like Messiah and Massacra, but apparently not!

Lovely people of the thrash sub-forum, kindly suggest some new bands who play good blistering thrash with old school sensibilities.
Reference points - Antichrist (Swe) and Nekromantheon.

You basically can't go wrong with any Sodom album up through 'Tapping the Vein.' I haven't heard much from between that one and 'Code Red,' though 'CR' wasn't bad from what I remember (haven't heard it in many years). Also get all Kreator from 'Pleasure to Kill' through 'Coma of Souls' if you like German thrash at all.

Over the last several months to a year I've been slowly getting into more of the classic Euro-death/thrash - Thanatos, Messiah, Protector - and I was wondering if I'm still missing anybody really essential?

Jimmy, of course Sodom rules. But I wanted to know if there are any newer old-school sounding thrash bands.

dontlivefastjustdie, ace recommendations man. Already heard Infant Death since I think someone (probably you) posted about this band earlier. I revisited them just now and they sound killer. Nocturnal Graves is a band that I missed out on. Thanks for reminding me about them. Infernal Stronghold suited my taste quite well too. Thanks a lot for the recs.

Glad you dig, chief! DEFINITELY go back and check Nocturnal Graves side of "The Gravespirit Sessions" split with Hell Spirit. Actually, Hell Spirit would probably fit this req too so check both sides! Killer record with some of my favorite cover art.

You probably already know Nocturnal but check them if not - http://avenger.bandcamp.com/album/arriv ... -carnivore

I've jocked Sadistic Ritual on here before too but they deserve a mention, just in case- http://borisrecords.bandcamp.com/album/ ... ercenary-7

Give Inferno a shot as well - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCI7CrQdwek

Oh and check out Nuklear Hellfrost! They're significantly less "thrash" than the rest but totally "thrashing" if you catch my drift. They manage to cross black metal and thrashing grindcore very effectively. They don't necessarily fit your request as well as the rest but I think you might dig em so fuck it.

Oh crap, I know I should've quoted the request. The Massacra rec was directed at this:

Heathen did a pretty great album back in 2009.

There's been quite a few good albums by 80's thrash bands, but IMO nothing that surpasses their earlier albums in quality. Apart from maybe that Heathen album, it's fucking cool.
Anyway, here's some others:
Overkill - Ironbound
Forbidden - Omega Wave
Mekong Delta - Lurking Fear
Annihilator - Feast
Death Angel - The Dream Calls for Blood
Destruction - The Antichrist
Kreator - Hordes of Chaos
Protector - Reanimated Homonculus
Sodom - M-16
Tankard - The Beauty and the Beer

Thinking about it, The Antichrist might be my favourite Destruction album.

Are you familiar with Hatriot? Yes I know they are a new band but Zetro is not and if you love Tempo of a Damned well their two albums are a must.

Well, Guillotine didn't come about til '95 so they're a bit outside the parameters but they only released a demo and album by '97 and then disappeared until '08 when they released a beast of a modern thrash record that went virtually unnoticed. Both albums are rad and pretty different in style.

Under the Guillotine (1997)

Blood Money (2008)

Some that have not been mentioned that are worth looking into.

Assassin - Breaking the Silence (2011)
Destructor - Forever in Leather (2007)
Necronomicon - Revenge of the Beast (2008)
Sacrifice - The Ones I Condemn (2009)
Holy Moses - Strength, Power, Will, Passion (2005) They have a few more albums since then I haven't heard but could be good.
Transmetal (They have steadily released albums since like forever so look into them).
Fuck Off - Smile as you Kill (2013) (I need to check this one out)
Headhunter - Parasite of Society (2008)
Paradox - Collision Course (2000) and a bunch of other albums since then that are solid.
Onslaught - Killing Peace (2006) and a couple other albums since then you should check out.
Agent Steel - Order of the Illuminati (2003)

Kreator - Hordes of Chaos

Oh man, your bands are spot on, but you picked some of the crappy records. Allow me to correct you...

Annihilator, Annihilator (2010) - awesome throwback thrash where they remove the quirky parts of their earlier records with just catchy hooks and straight-ahead thrash.

Overkill, The Electric Age (2012) - Ironbound is a great record, and The Electric Age continues the trend of catchy, speed metal-infused thrash metal.

Kreator - Phantom Antichrist (2012) - Fast as fuck classic teutonic thrash metal with Kreator's trademark melodic stylings.

Accuser, Diabolic (2013) - Accuser started as a speed metal-esque thrash band, but their later work is essentially brutal thrash that doesn't let up.

Exumer, Fire & Damnation (2013) - Extremely derivative and generic thrash metal, but I enjoy it because it's so stupid. Many people are split on this album.

Destruction, Spiritual Genocide (2012) - The Antichrist is a great record, but after you're done checking out the stinkers that make up Destruction's discography in the 2000s (minus The Antichrist of course), Spiritual Genocide is the closest second to that that we'll probably see.

Aura Noir, Out To Die (2012) - I don't think Aura Noir was around in the eighties, but they're such a staple in the blackened thrash scene and Out To Die proves how awesome they still are.

Onslaught, VI (2013) - Great classic thrash sound. It took them a few albums to find this awesome sound, but they finally hit it.

Megadeth, Endgame (2009) - Rust In Peace, Part II. Well, closer to Rust In Peace at 50%, Part II. Seriously, this is a shockingly good record especially when you consider Megadeth's past years' releases were all stinkers minus a handful of tracks.

Artillery, When Death Comes (2009) - Awesome goddamn classic Artillery. And legitimately classic. Unfortunately the guitars are crushed a bit so your ears may hurt a bit on first contact.

I also can't argue with Sodom's inclusion of M-16. That's a groovy, catchy beast of a thrash record.

Honorable mention: Venom, Resurrection (2000).

We'll have to agree to disagree then, because I thought Hordes of Chaos > Phantom AntiChrist and Ironbound > The Electric Age. But I'd say Annihilator is on a par with Feast, and yeah that Accuser album and ONLY that reunion Artillery album were pretty decent.

Gotta disagree with Megadeth and Onslaught being included though. If I were to pick any Onslaught album it would be Killing Peace. But you know, matter of opinion and all...

Endgame was fairly solid and a shame it it s the only Megadeth album I have liked by them this turn of the century.

I'd also put Ironbound ahead of the Electric Age. I don't know if I am the only one but I found that out of those 2 albums there are a few killer tracks but the rest fairly forgettable.

Listening to Onslaughts Children of the Sand again. I remember why this pissed me off now. Sounds like it came off of The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibition A.

ok guys, gimme some great thrash albums released since since the 2000's by 80's thrash bands.

Excellent stuff!
