Angel Dust - Into the Dark Past

Dementia - Recuperate From Reality

Sacrifice - Forward To Termination (may not be that obscure)

Thanks again.
Listening to the Dementia and damn this is really good. Already know Sacrifice and Angel Dust but D.A.M. is also new and great.

That just sounds like old-school metallic hardcore to me. Are you familiar with Merauder or Earth Crisis? The former is a lot thrashier, actually.

Well Merauder is closer to what im looking for,and seeing they're from NY is even better,i already love the death and brutal scene over there,so that's a big +,as for Earth Crisis,i feel its not that far from Merauder, althought not exactly what i had in mind, but i like the sound.

I have Merauder and agree they are probably close.

Here's another with hardcore vocals that has that heavy groove riffing. The following song is off As the Coil Unwinds, but IMO their Harmony of Discord album is the better of their two.

The Destro - Beast Burden

Ringworm is hardcore thrash, although it's thrashier than your example.

Ringworm - Hammer of the Witch

Sadus - Illusions: A similarly brutal and short album. Most of it is as fast, but with a few slower, intense passages akin to death metal. Frenzied vocal performance too.
Dark Angel - Darkness Descends: Longer, but intense all the way through. The guitars do have that kind of buzzing sound, however. Gene Hoglan is on it, so the drumming is pretty mad at times.

Hey, all. I'm in search of high quality and innovative drummers. My search is inspired by Proscriptor, but recommendations do not have to mirror his style. I'm just looking for stand-out individual drummers.

Also, any quality black/thrash recommendations (other than Melechesh and Absu) are welcome. These recs do not have to overlap.

Thanks!

ARTILLERY - B.A.C.K.

Not, er, exactly? Though this is the thrash thread, and I posted here on purpose for .. well .. thrash recommendations. Thanks in any case.

edit: Though, yeah, Dark Angel rec is making me want to expand my request to "albums on which the drumming is a stand-out feature."

I think the drums do stand out on that album.

I'd also recommend: GRIP INC - Nemesis

The Wikipedia article on Teutonic thrash metal claims that 'Teutonic thrash metal would not only come from Germany, but also from Austria, [the] Czech Republic and Switzerland.' Does anyone know any examples of Czech bands that were part of the '80s "Teutonic" thrash movement?

I know I'm late to the party but god DAMN, Vektor. I haven't even gotten to the debut yet because Outer Isolation has been so satisfying. The riffing is a lot more speed metal informed than I was expecting, and the way they color and texture the music is stunning.

I am listening to the first Disabuse album right now.
It occupies more and less the middle spot between the first kreator album and 80's agnostic front. The vocals sound very close to that of Mille aswell.

Something Wicked is decent and I'll always stand by that record as more than listenable.

Thanks, I'll check that one out. Guess after that I'm left with scavenging early non-full lengths for exclusive songs. They should put out a rarities compilation or something.

I'd like to thank whomever recommended the following : Warfect, Exmortus, and Reign of Fury.

I'm really enjoying those bands.

I'm not sure if anyone has recommended Dust Bolt yet, so I will now. They are quite enjoyable, fast & nice riffs.

No love for 'Out of Order'? It's no 'Survive', but pretty good overall and it has a few of their all-time best songs, like "Sign in Blood" and "Quocustodiat". I'd definitely recommend checking out that one before 'Something Wicked' and before going on a scavenging hunt for leftover early tracks.

Here is a question, I have been listening to metal for a while and from the thrash I've listened to the music itself seems awesome. I'm wondering can anybody recommend some brutal thrash that does not include anti-religious sentiment? (Kreator, Slayer, etc.)
Can anybody recommend good bands that keeps at least partial neutrality on most demographics?
If it helps the thrash I mostly listen too are: Megadeth, Early Metallica, Anthrax, and some Overkill
Thanks

The bands you listed as ones that you listen to aren't brutal thrash. Bands similar to those would be Vio-lence, Heathen, Paradox, Atrophy, and Angelus Apatrida off the top of my head.

For actual brutal thrash, I'd recommend Sadus, Demolition Hammer, Hypnosia, Ripping Corpse, and Nocturnal Breed. The last two are admittedly admixed with death or black metal, but they should still work fine.

I'm not terribly certain which of these bands do or don't use satanic/anti-religious lyrics, but I gave you a long enough list that you should be able to work things out. Most of these bands peaked towards the beginning, but I'd recommend going for their actual entries to see which albums are the best to start with.

Hey everyone. I'm looking for albums released within the last five years that YOU would consider unstoppable riffing machines. I get the impression that most of the newer bands are overlooked on these boards, which is understandable considering just how saturated the scene has become, but I am confident that there still diamonds in the rough. What I really want are the frenzied throwbacks to cult classics such as 'Epidemic of Violence', 'Shotgun Justice', and 'Excursion Demise'. Something that dials the heaviness all the way to 11 and never lets up on the speed. I realize this may be a tough request since the crop of new thrash these days are completely listless and uninspired. Any takers? Some more reference points just to help...

Exhorder - Slaughter in the Vatican
Hellwitch - Syzygial Miscreancy
Gammacide - Victims of Science
Insanity - Death After Death
Agressor - Neverending Destiny
Morbid Saint - Spectrum of Death
Num Skull - Ritually Abused

Thanks.

This was released in 2009 but I love this song. Reminds me a bit of SADUS.

Thanks. Both sound rad, Expulsion especially. Sucks that they split up too since its bands like that restores my faith in the modern thrash scene. Also, If anyone is interested in newer bands from my request I highly suggest listening to Eliminator's 'Breaking the Wheel'. Killer death/thrash.

Yeah, I know it. Seems like so many promising bands don't stick around long.

I love "Breaking the Wheel"! Definitely one of the best thrash releases of the last decade. Fantastic stuff.

Sylosis fall into a few categories. They started sounding metalcorish on the first album but have since dumped their singer and have released three excellent technical, proggy thrash albums.
Someone asked for Slayer - Reign in Blood sounding bands? I can't go past early The Haunted for pure Slayer worship. Dew-Scented fit that bill too.
Lotsa riffs post 2010? Hateform, Enforce (Australia), Eye of the Enemy, Truth Corroded, Hatriot, Havok, Metreya, Ouroboros, Revocation, Shrapnel just to name a few.

That's a wide spectrum of thrash and post-thrash.

Not sure what might do it for you but here are several to check out:

Let me know what you like and don't like and I can try to offer better suggestions.
