Looking for this style of fast and heavy melodeath, without too much synth (done tastefully) and, folk elements and harsh vocals.

Not bands like Finntroll etc. with the silly beer drinking vibes (they are good but not looking for that stuff here)

First few Thyrfing albums but the newer stuff doesn't have that sound you ask for.

Try Suidakra, Wolfchant, Whispered if you want Eastern folk influences, Brymir could work and maybe Blackguard? but only if you cant find anything else. Kalmah Don't really have the folk but worth checking out.

Ensiferum is more power metal that melodeath but might be up your ally if you never heard them.

Thanks a lot! Definetly agree that Ensiferum isn't the typical 'melodeath' sound, but have always considered them to be heavier than most melodeath bands, but power metal is definetly also accurate for much of their stuff. Very unique band IMO.

You might like Euphoreon:

The singer's solo project Far Beyond is very good too:

Enjoy! FWIW, I've chatted a bit online with the singer over the years and he's a very friendly and humble fella - the kind of musician anybody should be happy to support.

Well, this is an underground band, it sounds a bit raw, but you might like it:

These bands sound nothing like Wintersun or Ensiferum, but are as fast and heavy and folky as Folky Melodeath can be.
