The one who says "Nocturnus" must also say "Starseed", which are the German Nocturnus. Fantastic self-released MCDr.

Great keys at 5:48min, and going crazy at around 7:30min

I've always loved synthesizers on Pestilence's 'Testimony of the Ancients'! To me, they sound very Kitaro-esque. They aren't heard throughtout the album, though...

French band HYPNOSIS might work for you. They didn't really take off, but I liked their final three albums very much.

It's more blackened death metal, but stuff like Panzerchrist uses synths sporadically:
