Well, thats it, looking for some great solos and moments with the strenght of doom metal, or any kind of metal. Eternity by Anathema is a good example of what I´m looking for

Check out the Cosmic Child album by New Keepers of the Water Tower. It's more on the stoner doom side of things but it's got definite Pink Floyd influences in there.

In general, Stoner Doom may suit you to the tee if your looking for Pink Floyd influences in metal. Maybe also check out:

Lore by Elder
Sparkling Waters by Mammatus
Katarsis by Agusa
Awesome Science by Humanfly

I remember reading about a band called Sleepless from Israel that many compared to Pink Floyd. Looks like you can get the CD on Amazon very cheaply...

Here's the title track to their album:

I would love to know some cool trad/prog influenced doom bands that sound like Floyd. But yeah, unfortunately it mostly seems like a stoner thing. However, I do love Om, who at their softer moments are basically the concept of "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" turned into a full band. Really great stuff, I was hooked from my first listen.

+1 To OM, listen to their song Pilgrimage.

The third and the mortal on tears laid in earth has an influence that's audible, if not explicitly stated.

^Great band, though from their stuff, I'd say Painting On Glass is more Pink Floydish than the more straight-forward doom style of Tears. Both very excellent albums though and certainly worth owning.

Not quite doom metal, but the Pink Floyd-isms are certainly there; Tiamat's Wildhoney has some killer lead work (especially during "Gaia").

Dark Buddha Rising are often called "psychedelic doom" and while maybe not explicitly influenced by PF they have a lot of the same qualities in their mellow moments - but the doom aspect of their sound is the focal point (n pretty goddamm crushing) - Dahkmandal is a beast

That was a pretty solid album, all around. I still haven't gotten around to listening to the follow up... Wondering if it's on the same level or not.
