Black heavy metal bands. Really like heavy metal bands with black metal vocals and black metal riff/chord structure thrown in. Along the lines of Denial of God and Immortal etc. Anyone recommend bands?

Is "I" too obvious? You should give Taake's Noregs Vaapen a try too, not exactly Black/Heavy, but more of a Black Metal with heavy metal influences kind of thing.

Root is a perfect blend of heavy and black metal, especially the later stuff:

Midnight are more along the lines of Motorhead worship with harsh vocals, but there's a few other black metal bits thrown in and it's good shit nonetheless.

You'd know they're Swedish even if it wasn't in the description.

...also, very obvious:

+1 for Root.

Also, have you heard Carpathian Forest? Not every song by them is like this but a fair bit of them have that rock/heavy metal thing going on:

Yeah I know about all Abbath's work but the stuff like "I" is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about. Great balance on that album. Taake has a more german thrash style, at least I thought but I'm actually gonna listen to more of that album anyway thanks for reminding me xD

Yeah love all the black rock n roll stuff, Midnight in particular are great. More looking for the Iron Maiden sounding black metal stuff (rather than venom/motorhead), like Slayer's Show No Mercy album...Should of probably put that in the thread at the beginning. Thanks for the contribution though

Check out the 4th Nifelheim album Envoy of Lucifer then, they toned down their thrash influence a lot on that one and instead go heavy on the Maiden worship.

Garwall has some fast heavy metal-tinged riffing with a black metal base. Might be a little more towards the melodic death metal end of the spectrum, but worth a shot.

Ignore their really stupid name, because Inconcessus Lux Lucis play pretty much exactly what you're after (maybe!):

Check out Hirilorn's debut. The pre-DSO band played some very interesting black metal with heavy nods toward Iron Maiden.

Their last EP was stellar, by the way. Loaded with a ton of really nice riffing, but never really forgets about the black metal base.

I don't know what the site's overall opinion on this band is, but Kvelertak?

Yep, the EP was great, too! All around cool band that I'm surprised haven't made bigger waves.

Demonaz's solo album was awesome. Up there with the "I" album in terms of quality.

You might also like these guys:

They're more like black n roll, but I think they meet some of your criteria. Good band, I like them a lot myself.

They used to be listed on here, but they were removed a few years ago. Too punky I guess? I like them myself, and they put on a hell of a live show.

Demontage are one of the best of this style. Production is a bit rough, but the music is great.

I agree man. I got The Principal Extinction album a couple years ago. Pretty rough production but you can tell these guys really put their souls into the material. Fuckin' rocks

Triumphant might be what you're looking for even though some of the riffs are more thrashy. Herald the Unsung is awesome.

I second this. Triumphant are great, especially with all the harmonised guitar work. They definitely fit your criteria.

Countess fit the bell. Best records are the 2nd to 6th (though that 6th one is more doom than heavy).
