Been hesitating for a while, but I guess it's time. There are many bands, which have good instrumentals, but I never truly remember them (except some vague impression), because lyrics are whatever and exist sort of separately from instrumentals. In this sense many albums would be more enjoyable if they were purely instrumental. I'd give some examples except I never bothered to remember them.

I want this thread dedicated to songs, where instrumentals cooperate with lyrics, each supplementing the other in way that you found enjoyable or relatable. I have a few examples, so I'll start. I'll be giving it in the format bandalbumsong. Then link to the song. Then brief explanation why I liked it. Ordering is descending, that is, the highest rated are given first.

Alustrium – A Monument to Silence – The Accuser
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzHHM-jF1gU
The best song of the whole album and the lyrics are by far the best manifestation of self-loathing I have ever heard. The metaphorical writing and musical oppression with guilt, damn. This is a perfect song from the beginning to the end. Took me a long while to grow on it and through years I never found anything even remotely as good as this.

To Dust – Against the Real – Midas Syndrome
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5r1cyxRZD8
I like the motif of self-destructive greed. Every line of lyrics is perfect to me. Don't like the ending, it should have been a bit shorter.

Savage Circus – Dreamland Manor – When Hell Awakes
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qw2-gbsMy7k
This album is more or less perfect, both in music and lyrics, so just sharing the song I seem to like most. It's basically fantasy song done right.

Persuader – Evolution Purgatory – Wipe Out
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUfsP-25VOY
Armageddon atmosphere done right.

Mgla – Exercises in Futility – Exercises in Futility VI
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8Xgq3naom4
Black despair done right.

AngelMaker – AngelMaker – Tempest
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8DUCj_4ndc
More motivating than most of power metal I've ever heard.

Not on MA, but
Sold Soul – I Hope We Can Make Out of This Alive – For Whom the Banshee Cries
https://soldsoulnc.bandcamp.com/track/f ... ney-slayes
Has a nasty core breakdown in the end, but basically atmosphere of death and despair done right. Rare example where female vocals in a Deathcore song do not feel out of place.

Shadow of Intent – Reclaimer – The Return
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHyEl3GUYhE
Amazing album overall, but this one and The Heretic Prevails seem to be by far the best songs. I can't even comment, atmosphere is just perfect.

Eye of Purgatory – The Lighthouse – The Lighthouse
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66_1I5e3Poo
Chorus gives me creeps. I like the atmosphere of despair brought by the sickness that entered this town.

Leviathan (a.k.a Living Abyss) – Of Origins Unearthed – Proclamation of Death
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKkZW4G3ZOE
https://kumi666.com/lyrics-library/of-o ... leviathan/
There we meet again, at the end of days... I mean... what can be wrong with these lyrics?

Wolf – The Black Flame – I Will Kill Again
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyPG0Ohl8g8
I like the motif of a killer that is self conscious of his inability to stop his desire to kill.

Make Them Die Slowly – Ferox – Murder Night (The Final Girl)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqTViq5cITo
Liking it mostly because the murderer survived.

Zero Degree – Black Hole Illumination – A Fading Siren's Sound
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXSbNMNwq-k
Not anything overly impressive, but the motif of being what seems to be frozen alive is interesting.

Bryan Eckermann – Malcolm Rivers – Dragon Born
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKcMiApx00A
Maybe I just haven't heard enough Skyrim songs, but this one has a very nice chorus.

I could still go on and on and find perhaps some 10-15 more songs, but I am not sure they fit the idea of this thread.
