Harry "The Tyrant" Conklin career spent many years and bands. I'm still a newbie regarding everything he was on beside Ample Destruction but I'm a big fan of his vocals...

Any suggestion where I might start? What are his best moments beside this monster of a release?

Satan's Host's By the Hands of the Devil is pretty fuckin great. The follow up isn't as good, but it's still a worthy slab of evil as fuck metal.

The last few Jag Panzer albums are solid, especially Scourge of the Light.

All Jag Panzer albums are great, Conklin-wise.

I still say Virgin Sails blows it out of the water, but we can agree to disagree. Virgin Sails is certainly my favorite album with Conklin though, and probably in my top 25 metal albums. Ample Destruction and By the Hands are both very good, while 'Metal from Hell' is okay if you can ignore the awful, awful drum sound. Post-AD Panzer and Titan Force don't do much for me, but some certainly like them, so you might.

But if you want to hear the best fucking performance he's ever done, listen to the rerecording of "Metal from Hell" from Celebration: For the Love of Satan. Absolutely amazing.

Satan's Host - Metal from Hell (the album) is excellent, if you can handle the dodgy recording.

For me it's Casting the Stones by Jag Panzer. He nails all those songs. Scourge of the Light and By the Hands of the Devil are also mandatory. Personally I find his later performances to be my favourite. Would love to catch the bloke live somehow.

I'd go with the Titan Force debut, which is a great rousing power metal album. The follow up is great, too, but there's just more "hits" on the debut. Stan's Hots debut is great, too, and the production is less irksome than their new stuff! :P

He sounds absolutely wonderful on The Fourth Judgement ('Shadow Thief', anyone?) and balls-out amazing on Virgin Sails.
