Try Poison from Germany. Very thrashing and raw.

Do you know Nihilist or Nunslaughter?

Also, just in case you haven't, check out early versions of classic bands: Xecytioner, Amon, Mantas, etc.

Origin for sure. It is their best and a contender for best of 2008. Even those who don't like death metal much agree that it is a decent album. Definitely get that one.

You can check out Origin, Spawn Of Possession, Decrepit Birth, Devourment, Prostitute Disfigurement, Cryptopsy... These are some bands I can think of right now.

I thought Cryptopsy and SoP were Tech Death

Thanks for the other recs though, I'll be shure to listen to those and all the others posted.
Yes, they are technical Death Metal bands but they are also brutal as fuck!

Haven't heard the Misery Index album, but I'd say go for Antithesis. It's damn good for it's genre, while Fury and Flames is downright horrible.

You can safely ignore Hate Eternal's Fury and Flames. Origin and Misery Index are awesome however.

Not me for sure... "Origin" is one of the top 5 death metal albums for 2008.

Thanks for the three band suggestions but I actually have heard of ( And love!) the three bands named! If anyone else knows any good melodic death metal bands, throw them my way, always greatly appreciated! =)

Yea its quite obvious, they just make subtle changes to the song writing like adding in a little noodle at the end of riffs or just playing the same riff backwards!

Well I'm in need of some music similar to Pungent Stench, Miasma and Molested basically really raw and heavy, heavy death metal preferably with older style production that gives these bands their raw sound.

Nothing is quite like Pungent Stench. I haven't found any album that compares with Been Caught Buttering, which is one of my all-time favorites. However, you may want to try the first Disharmonic Orchestra album Expositionsprophylaxe - it came out around the same time and has a similar crunchy, raw sound. Their following album Not to be Undimensional Conscious was also fantastic but a bit more progressive along the lines of Atheist.

I don't know if that helps - and you'll probably already know these bands - but what would you say about some Terrorizer, Autopsy and the old stuff by Benediction? Not so similar but they have this raw heavy style...

Can someone suggest me some death metal similar to Adorior (ENG)? They are also black metal-influenced but their core sound revolves around fast, thrashy death metal with a chaotic atmosphere that reminds me of Dark Angel. Stuff similar to Destroyer 666. No "br00tal" influences, no "atmosphere", except for the intrinsic chaos I'm looking for.

Please avoid the more amateurish bands.

I really like those guys from Sweden. New materials are pure old school, fast and dark.

By the way split album costs just 13 $

Informis Infinitas Inhumanitas almost sounded completley different from Echoes if you asked me. Also, if you happen to compare their S/T debut with where they are now you can hear a huge HUGE change.

BTW, more people need to listen to Misery Index goddamnit. The drummer is one of the few that comes to mind that stands neck to neck with Longsteth.

Atheist's Unquestionable Presence feels very spacy.

Well I'm not sure what you want but check out Desaster (GER), they fit what you describe perfectly. Be sure to check out their album Hellfire's Dominion

I've been given the option to buy these band's discographies, but I don't know which ones would be worth spending my money on. Keep in mind that I like all styles of death metal equally, so I just want the best choice of purchase.

Cephalic Carnage
Nile
Behemoth
Vital Remains
Necrophobic
Decapitated
Goatwhore
Dying Fetus
Carcass
Zyklon
Krisiun
Vader
Kataklysm
Immolation
Dissection

Decapitated, Zyklon, Dying Fetus (except WoA), Krisiun, Immolation and Vader are all pretty damn good discographies.

I'd pick Decapitated, Immolation, and Vader.

If I were you I'd buy Carcass's discography. Every album is excellent and very different from the others, plus the artworks are priceless.

Carcass, if there can be only one. After that Immolation. After that Cephalic Carnage.

The thing that's great about Carcass is that you will not only get great music but a history lesson. They shifted from pure goregrind/grindcore to death metal to death 'n roll. Even though their later phase was crap IMHO, the stuff up until Heartwork is really best of breed for their respective genres.

Okay, sweet. Based on what people said, the best choices (in this order) would be Carcass, Cephalic Carnage, Decapitated, Vader and Immolation.

Thanks, guys.

Mastication's self-titled demo should work. Hard to find, mind (also, Divine Eve's "As The Angels Weep" is not so Swedeath-styled, but is a nice bit of CF-worship that is slow and crushy).

thanks to a discussion that went on in another thread, I decided to give Cryptopsy a try. Thanfully, my friend had all their albums. One that caught my ears attention was Non So Vile. The unnatural vocals, the strange catchyness of the album . . . does anyone know any similar albums/bands? I tried Blashphemy Made Flesh album, it was good, but didn't have the same effect on me as None So Vile did. So, any bands or albums that sound exactly (or almost) similar to NSV would be good. ( by that i mean, the wierd vocals, and the strange catchyness)
