French black death metal mongers OTARGOS have inked a deal with Listenable Records. The band's just-completed new album, "Apex Terror", will be released in September. According to a press release, the CD "displays a fresher, stripped down, more intense songwriting, very immersed in a catchier death and obscure thrash metal genre," with "lyrical themes about the darker side of humanity."

What does everyone think of this?

They're a cool band. I enjoyed them when I saw them in Paris last year at the free 10th Anniversary gig of Black Dog.

I enjoyed "No God, No Satan" but wasn't blown away with it. I hope the new record will be a step up.

This is my introduction to the group so I don't know what to expect, but that video clip is right up my alley in the kind of stuff I like so they might be worth looking out for.

The first 2 Otargos were killer riffing black metal. The stuff after has been more atmospheric and industrial and was pretty decent still.
I am keeping an eye for this. After all they are only the BM band that definitely got me into BM.
