Hey guys,
does anyone of you have one of the following LPs and is able to tell me how they differ in terms of sound quality from the CD versions (less compression, clearer and warmer sound for exaample)? I really like these albums but due to the compression the listening experience is somewhat ruined at some places. Any info would be appreciated :)

Dark Tranquillity - Projector (original version or reissue)
Dark Tranquillity - Character
Immolation - Close to a world below
Edge of sanity - Crimson 1 and 2 (the CD versions aren´t too compressed but I´m curious anyhow)
In Flames - Colony and Whoracle
Nevermore - Dead Heart in a dead world
Mastodon - Crack the skye

Thanks :)

The earliest album on your list (Crimson) is from 1996. I don't think you'll notice that much of a difference if you haven't a top of the line high end gear for vinyl playing. There's also the question if whether these albums have been properly mastered for vinyl or not, considering that they're all pretty recent.

Yeah I know Crimson is a bit older, the reason I put it on the list was because the most current vinyl version of this is a remaster and I´m not sure whether they fucked up the sound. So my question refers to the Crimson 1 + 2 DLP edition :)

So does anyone have one of those vinyls and can tell me how they sound? :)
