ANNOUNCING NEW VOCALIST & NEW TRACK OFF UPCOMING ALBUM

Its been over 2 years now since Canadian Traditional Heavy Metal Maniacs EVIL SURVIVES released their highly acclaimed sophomore album Powerkiller on Heavy Artillery Records. Since the release of Powerkiller & heavy touring across North America in 2010 and 2011, EVIL SURVIVES have parted ways with original vocalist Karl 'Axe n Smash' Warkentin. After an exhaustive search for a Dickenson to call their own - EVIL SURVIVES is out-of-control-proud to officially announce the search is over. Pete Klassen has taken the reins – and life in EVIL SURVIVES will never be the same.

New vocalist Pete Klassen brings a global-metal element to the table, hailing from Calgary but currently living in Tokyo and being involved with the Japanese heavy metal scene.

After tracking instruments in several sessions over the past 9 months, EVIL SURVIVES is currently putting the finishing touches on the upcoming 3rd full length, titled Painslave.

The album was engineered & mixed once again at Private Ear Studios by longtime ES audio-sensai John Paul Peters (Propagandhi, Comeback Kid), and co-produced - as always - by Satan herself.

Destroyer, the first single from the upcoming full length will be made available for free download here:

http://evilsurvives.bandcamp.com/

Destroyer describes Napoleons fateful 1812 Russian campaign, the notorious burning of Moscow and the crippling miseries of the winter retreat. Exclusive Defeated-Emperor-Artwork for the new single will be available with digital download.

The new track – the world premier of EVIL SURVIVES with Pete Klassen at the helm! - will be unleashed online May 31st 2013 at 11:58pm sharp.

More new EVIL SURVIVES & Painslave details coming soon!

Will keep an eye on this. These guys are pretty underrated IMO.

Someone chucked in one of their CDs with some other stuff I bought. Still haven't got around to listening to it. Should I care?

If you like trad and old-school speed metal then you may enjoy them. Basically NWOBHM worship in the vein of Cauldron, Striker, Skull Fist, etc. but a bit more technical and with some thrash influence + plenty of harmonies. Original vocalist might take some getting used to... What album is it, Powerkiller?

This band is awesome! Powerkiller was one of my favorite albums of 2010.

New track is streaming: http://evilsurvives.bandcamp.com/

Not bad. The new vocalist seems to have less range though.
