@CrushedRevelation: Bro, those first 3-4 you posted are quite literally the shit. Will seek out these albums immediately.

Yep, that Sonne Adam EP (Doctrines Of Dark Devotion) sounds MUCH better than I recall their full length being. Really cavernous, crushing material.

Misery's Omen is simply majestic, flowing stuff.

I think Soul Devour's debut has an absolutely awesome cover. It's rather simple, and it would never stand up with some of the more professional artists and painters, but by god it looks brilliant. The album is cool too.

Total fucking badassery, which faithfully backs up the destructive nature of this beastly ep.

If only this release was even half as awesome as that cover art. It's still one of my favorite artworks (the whole artwork is amazing). Too bad an album with nothing but retarded, chaotic blasturbation has such a cool cover.

I always thought it was supposed to be a skull of some kind, that Enslaved cover.

Hammer of Gods

Check this out, you may be surprised! ;)

Funny you should mention that - about a year ago, I was assigned a poster board project on the Black Plague for school. Alongside my presented research, I attached both the Hammer of Gods album cover and a copy of the painting to the board. I also included a caption explaining what the artwork symbolized. My teacher, a metalhead himself, gave me both the highest mark possible for the project and a poster signed by Pete Helmkamp! That is perhaps the main reason why the cover of Hammer of Gods is so special to me.

That is too cool! I really like his works, especially the triptychs which are beyond brilliant.

Let's see what I can add to that hasn't already been posted...

Always been a fan of this artist's Incantation covers, this one the most
Spoiler: show

Since is this my favorite album of all time, I've also always liked the cover because it just the polar opposite of what's contained inside musically:

Huge fan of Mark Riddick, and it shows since he and Pushead are the main influences on my own art. Basically anything that has Riddick's work automatically makes me seek out to at least take a listen to it:

Really? Any reason? Personally, I'm finding it hugely annoying having to click them all open.
I'm not taking the piss by the way, if there's a genuine (i.e. technical) reason then fair enough.

While the album isn't as good as the two that came before it, I always thought Vital Remains' Dawn of the Apocalypse had really killer artwork.

Sacred Blood's debut also has a really cool cover. Unfortunately, the vocalist leaves much to be desired on that album.

Sure the gate looks oddly flat, but I don't care, proper proportions cannot be expected to exist along size such badassory.

I've been seeing that art for years now, but never have I listened to the music. Has anyone here listened to this?

here is a song from the album:

much more mid-paced than I would've thought. it's alright. basically better artwork than music.

:ugh: I hate it when that happens. Also, that particular upload had shitty quality, so I'm still going to look for a good sounding version.

Back on topic, more epic looking art that goes along with epic music: Hünengrab Im Herbst by Nagelfar
