Yep, that Sonne Adam EP (Doctrines Of Dark Devotion) sounds MUCH better than I recall their full length being. Really cavernous, crushing material.

Misery's Omen is simply majestic, flowing stuff.

I think Soul Devour's debut has an absolutely awesome cover. It's rather simple, and it would never stand up with some of the more professional artists and painters, but by god it looks brilliant. The album is cool too.

If only this release was even half as awesome as that cover art. It's still one of my favorite artworks (the whole artwork is amazing). Too bad an album with nothing but retarded, chaotic blasturbation has such a cool cover.

Funny you should mention that - about a year ago, I was assigned a poster board project on the Black Plague for school. Alongside my presented research, I attached both the Hammer of Gods album cover and a copy of the painting to the board. I also included a caption explaining what the artwork symbolized. My teacher, a metalhead himself, gave me both the highest mark possible for the project and a poster signed by Pete Helmkamp! That is perhaps the main reason why the cover of Hammer of Gods is so special to me.

That is too cool! I really like his works, especially the triptychs which are beyond brilliant.

While the album isn't as good as the two that came before it, I always thought Vital Remains' Dawn of the Apocalypse had really killer artwork.



Sacred Blood's debut also has a really cool cover. Unfortunately, the vocalist leaves much to be desired on that album.
