It has already been confirmed on this very forum (as well as elsewhere) that Von Venien is a troll and using online antics to generate some buzz for his crummy music and get a few sales from the morbidly curious. Bathym followed the exact same playbook as you may recall. |

I just don't get why this guy has such the ego of a rock star or whatever when he did nothing. The only worth a shit Von recording is "Satanic Blood" and he's not there. But now he's trying to make money playing those old songs that aren't that special anyway. I wish someone wakes this guy up one day. This drama around Von in recent years has been beyond stupid. |

There were only two reasons people liked Von, one is because they were the most simplistic black metal could ever be and it was really catchy, the second and main reason was because of their obscurity and cult status (which they completely destroyed by trying to sell out but with no-one buying and becoming huge Dark Funeral/Watain generic norsecore for 13 year olds wannabes). Most metal bands from the late 80's early 90's are in their 40's now and are probably going through midlife crisis' lol and along with the internet becoming hugely popular this has lead to a lot of awesome bands regrouping such as Convulse, Morbid Saint and Winter for example, this has also lead to long active bands to change their styles for example Darkthrone are playing really good 70's/80's influenced metal and Cryptopsy worried about themselves not being cool anymore and decided to get down with the kids and go all deathcore, having "trendy" haircuts and ear hoops and sounding like Korn. I would say that the same thing happened to Von, the problem with this however is that these guys going round saying they're "Von®" don't look like they're in their 40's at all, they look fucking 17. Von Goat released some decent stuff though. |
