I wanted to get some feedback on the reissues Divebomb has been putting out as they've been reissuing some classics like Demon Preacher and Control And Resistance to name only a couple. The thing is that these reissue are remastered and as such I'd like to get some opinions on the remastering job given to them. We all know that sometimes a bad remastering job can introduce noise and clipping, or even come out too loud, so any input on this would be cool.

I personally checked the Demon Preacher reissue, which was the one I could find a download and actually have the original to compare to, and to me it seems that there are two main differences on the remastered version. The sound is significantly louder, I'd say about 25% louder but it doesn't seem to have any kind of clipping or distortion. Secondly, much of the "mud" on the original version seems to have been removed as the remastered album sounds cleaner and clearer, especially on the drums.

Any thoughts on this matter?

I bought the reissue of Forte's Stranger than Fiction, and it's great - a real improvement over the original audio.

I've bought three Divebomb reissues (both D.A.M. albums and the Uncle Slam album) and they sound great to me! I haven't heard the originals, but these albums do sound quite good. Matt is a super cool guy and is totally open to discussion on the Divebomb forum if you want to inquire further: http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/dive ... cords-563/

Wow, that's cool to know.

As I said above, by comparing the remastered against the original I couldn't find any kind of noise. If I had to make any kind of comparison I'd have to say that they're a bit like the Megadeth remasters in the sense that the sound is "cleaner" and without the mud. But then again I'm saying this based on a single album. I'd very much like to compare the Watchtower album if anyone has the Divebomb reissue (I have the original).
