No, this is an original. The matrix number looks correct.

It appears to be legit but I don't have a copy to compare, the font looks right.

My friend buy this one in 1991 and sell me some days ago, but I has doubt of why "metal blade" don't appears like others.
I ask in Fates Warning forum, and users told me is just a irrelevant thing.

For example slayer and difference (enigma and restless are similar printers seeing my others cds)

Image Image

I buy a lot of CDs and never think what the hell I buy, I just pay and let it go, my godness...

Travis,
Dont worry, you have the original thing there. Matrix number is much more important than the face of the disc. The fonts and orientation on the matrix number are correct.

I also have a copy of Running Wild- Masquerade released in 1995 made in France by MPO, but on the back of the CD the matrix info is missing the only thing listed is the following barcode 4006030026122, the same thing listed on the back tray card as the barcode. Wanting to know if this is a bootleg or not?

Only info you see on matrix area is barcode? 99,99999% that this is bootleg.

Barcode as matrix is very uncommon on original releases.

Never seen any MPO pressed CD with barcode on matrix area.

I'm going through all of my cds and slowly adding them onto to Discogs. Would any of you guys be willing to go through my collection and see which matches we have and cast correct or incorrect votes on them? A lot to ask for, but I would REALLY appreciate it!

I just bought spiritual healing, last one on earth and Diabolical summoning on ebay from some user name breaking cat. I just check on discogs and it says the first press matrix is: MASTERED BY NIMBUS 88561-2011-2 (v) : but in mine its says MASTERED BY NIMBUS 88561-2011-2 (v) · is this a bootleg? I could put a picture of it, but im not sure how. Also the painting in the cd fall off in a tiny part. Other than that it looks pretty much the same.

MASTERED BY NIMBUS 88561-2011-2 (v) :
MASTERED BY NIMBUS 88561-2011-2 (v) ·

Looks like someone put a colon : instead of an interpunct · when they were updating it.

travisvid to me that CD looks legit, the colour of the disc could just mean it's a different release that hasn't been added there yet, and indeed a different colour of disc alone is enough to warrant a new release.
If you have an account you can [and should] add it, that would be awesome.
Take a look through similar versions that are for sale and read the notes, people will often say something like "same album but has a grey disc and different matrix" for example.
They shouldn't, but they do...

Also I'm sure Imageshack has thumbnail tags you can use

I just got a copy of Borknagar - The Olden Domain and it's supposed to be this copy http://www.discogs.com/Borknagar-The-Ol ... se/1916321

My copy however, only has 2586 7 + + on the matrix and nothing else. Fake?

Not really mate, that Century Black stuff is repressed all the time. So of course they'll present matrix variations. It's CM, and unless it's worth gold I can't see why it wouldn't be legit.

Here is the back of the Borknagar cd.

Here is the back of the Marduk - Heaven shall burn...when we are gathered (also wondering if it's a fake)

I don't own any of those, but like I said before why would those be fake? Did you buy them at a strange place or anything like that? Why the suspicion?

You see, the point of bootlegging CDs is to make a buck from stuff that's generally absent. Not from stuff that's pressed in the tens of thousands!

I bought Borknagar from gohastings and Marduk from my local store. I'm worried because I can't find any info on them and they both only have simple matrixes which from what I've seen, is what most boots have.

As well as represses. And since those aren't rare CDs by any stretch of imagination...

The fact that there's no info online just means that no one added it. Discogs is based on user input as much as any other website of the same kind. Don't worry so much. ;)

BTW, those guys are coming to my country on May 17.

No SID codes... it's funny how some of the big companies don't use them, Relapse is one.
http://www.discogs.com/release/3704595 I have this promo version and I had this too but swapped or sold it http://www.discogs.com/release/4921349
Was it you asking about Gohastings yesterday?

edit: yes it was viewtopic.php?p=2407057#p2407057

Just wondering if anyone else had one, I'll add a note etc about it being a record club version. You should go see them, I saw them back in 1997 [approx]

I've mixed my copies of Hooded Menace's Never Cross the Dead. I have both the original LP version and the remastered one. The covers however are identical, but the LPs centers are not. The others are black/white and the others colored, which ones are the original and which ones the remastered? I can't confirm this right now as I don't have a working record player right now..

The barcodes/catalogue numbers are the same I take it?
Anything interesting in the runout, etched text, maybe a date or some dead giveaway like the engineer
