Venenum!!! (http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Venenum/3540327224)

their self-titled EP that came out last year was easily one of my favorite releases of the entire year. still listen to it regularly. can't wait to hear what they do on a full length.

Krypts (http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Krypts/3540282830)

the Open The Crypt demo was excellent. their official website has a blog from January that says they were gonna start recording their full length in a week or two, and that Dark Descent was going to be responsible for the cd. haven't heard anything since... ogmetal, do you know anything about it?

Sonne Adam (http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Son ... 3540287776)

dunno if they really count for this thread... they've released two EP's and a full length. oh well, whatever.. anyway, Transformation is the best death metal album i've heard since Graves of the Archangels. lot of people will severely disagree with that and some may even think i'm crazy, but hey that's just my opinion. i played the shit out of it when it first came out and usually when i over-listen to something, i can't listen to it very often anymore, but i still find myself playing this album a lot

anyway, speaking of Graves of the Archangels... what the hell is Dead Congregation doing? it's been 4 years since Graves.. and i've heard nothing as far as new material. anyone?

They're not news to anyone but I'm hopeful that Atlantean Kodex will produce an amazing sophomore album. Their debut ha some great moments, even if it did drag on a bit, but I definitely think they show a lot of promise.

I see Entrails, Horrendous and Miasmal have gotten some flak. I think people should keep their eyes peeled for all three bands mentioned. They have been both scorned and praised all in the same thread. Shows you how divided personal taste and overall perception is with people. But opinions do vary. Personally, I see no wrong in treading the orthodox path, thrusting your banner into the soil and enforcing your mark. A lot of folks seem to attach a stigma to that kind of thinking though. As already stated, it's tried and true. It works. The formula is effective and still deadly accurate. That is all. \m/

Well said.

I don't find Entrails that great, and the production on Miasmal's full length threw me a bit. However the demo and EP sound nice.

I think DDR's Living Decay are very much on the right track. That tape is really cool.

Seems like I truly will have to get rid of this "demos aren't important" policy of mine, as Open the Crypt I found to be nothing short of fantastic. Thanks for exposing these guys, mate!

Of course I know about it! I'm releasing it. They are working on recording now. There's going to be some killer artwork on this one as well. No concrete release date yet but it will be in the second half of the year.

extra props for one of the most awesome cover art i've ever seen on an album

musically, i didn't think much of them when i first heard it, but that artwork makes me want to give the album more than a couple chances in the hopes that i'll warm up to it

Spoiler: show
