I ummmm have the white, gold vinyl and limited CD... :oh shit:

 At least those are only three versions...

Zephirus, I'd agree - I can imagine that it must be really annoying for everyone who pre-ordered. I have a few friends who are fuming about this right now. NR could just see all the diehard fans coming - especially after so damn long.

Wasn't the gold the only version limited to 200...the rest 300? I think its nice they are keeping it pressed at least. The cost is rather egregious for one LP though.

Just ordered the last vinyl copy in stock from soundstagedirect and I would imagine its on the black vinyl since no color was listed. After getting a 6 or 7spins through this album I couldn't be more excited to hear the two bonus tracks. As for right now this is easily in my top 3 favorite Summoning releases.

There is a lot of variation on this album and I think they made the right choice having cleaner production to really bring the best out of the various instruments and sounds used on this album. Think I am going to make this my first review after some more spins.

Damn, these guys need to work with a real engineer. Second album in a row where shit sounds all cluttered. Album is alright, nothing really blows me away but it's about as good as Bound Oaf.

I think this one sounds better than (2006) Summoning - Oath Bound.

This is a little OT but as I mentioned earlier in this thread I got the gold vinyl and think the album is great. One thing that annoys me a little though is that Side D has a "pop" once every revolution. I've got the same issue on some other vinyls I own, mostly newer ones. This leads me to believe that it could be an issue from when the records were pressed since I don't experience this issue with all of my records. Only some of them. Is it just that much of a gamble buying new vinyls these days? Are they just being cheaply pressed a lot more than I realize?

Probably forgotten knowledge.

No, it doesnt. :D

I dont see a great difference in terms of production.

I hope this new review doesnt make me want to kill the writer. :D

i think the production on the new album is very good. YES the drums are plodding and monotonous as always but if you get past this, it's a very musical album.

Roc, i think you got a bad one maybe? i would say the quality of vinyl these days should be better than the 90s etc
nearly all is 180gm these days.

practically all my early vinyl are flimsy wobble boards :p

I feel (2006) Summoning - Oath Bound sounds way more muddy.
It will (I don't like the review)! LOL!

The old vinyls I have that are thinner and "wobbly" actually sound fine to me. No "pop" every time they make a complete revolution. I'd imagine that 180gm weight alone doesn't constitute good quality.

Only some of my records do this. The ones that do, are newer. I'm just going to be more selective about what I buy since I don't want to waste money, and if it continues to happen I'll probably just stop taking the risk altogether.

Production is probably better than OB but not good enough. The band deserves a production that lets shit breathe more - don't know the technical terms to explain it.

That was my point (better than (2006) Summoning - Oath Bound) but I'm not sure if they should try to improve the production cause (2006) Summoning - Oath Bound was the only Summoning album with quite an annoying production. I don't care for the production of the rest.

So the earbook edition is ready:

http://shop.napalmrecords.com/summoning ... on-ep.html

A booklet with 25 pages looks really interesting though the images dont show anything outstanding.

But I find two problems:

1. The new cover is much, much worse. At least the original one appears in the booklet.

2. 40 f*cking euros??? are you kidding me?????

I was going to buy this one, but the price is a joke, it cant cost the same this edition and the limited one.

If someone is interested I have put a big part of the SUMMONING discography on vinyl format on Ebay, some of them NEW, never opened.

A good chance to get this stuff completely new:
