Wrathprayer for me. Released yesterday on LP, just awaiting my copy.

WAS really looking forward to Coffin Texts and Pseudogod, thankfully that wait is over, it was killing me!

I also look forward to any release from Immolation. Hopefully a tour that stops near me follows.

I have a few (always seem to have at least a few):

Anatomia - "Decaying in Obscurity." The best Autopsy tribute band finally puts out another full-length. Promised for a long time, finally (hopefully) coming this year.

Apostasy - "Sunset of the End" (reissue). Apparently this gem will at long last be reissued on CD. Xtreem is supposed to do it.

Cultes des Ghoules - "Henbane." I wasn't totally enamored of their debut "Haxan," which seemed a little too primitive in both riffage and sound quality. But their last EP "Spectres..." changed my mind in a big way. Now anticipating this new album above most anything else.

Helcaraxe - "Red Dragon." Always good melodic (yet dark) death metal with war and medieval themes. The cover art for this is beautiful, too.

Lantern - ? Really promising underground, old school death metal band with a way-above-average grasp of how to put a song together. The debut should be great.

Warpstone - "Daemonic Warpfire." Just found this band through their cover artist, painter Paulo Girardi (who is amazingly talented). The band sounds very good to me, a bit like Martyr (Can) but not as technical and a little more death metally. Strong songwriting, crisp production, and a little off the norm - very promising. Unfortunately I don't think they have a label yet so even though the album is apparently done, who knows when it will ultimately pop up.

There's a chance some of these bands won't have their albums out until next year, but off the top of my head just to start the salivation:

Immolation - Currently or will begin recording sometime in June for a tentative October release.
Incantation - Currently recording.
Disgorge - And the Weak Shall Perish; I don't know what's going on with this as I don't think all the songs have even been written yet much less recorded. Still, Parallels of Infinite Torture is my favorite and if it builds on that, I'm more than satisfied.
Pyrexia - Currently recording, titled Feast of Iniquity. Both Dave Culross and Doug Bohn are recording drums for the album.
Internal Bleeding - Currently in pre-production or early recording stages between live dates, titled The Pageantry of Savagery. May be a 2013 release.
Dehumanized - Finishing recording over the course of June.
Devourment - Begin recording June 15th.
Neurosis - No surprise that there's been little information about this one, but they were wrapping up mixing in late March so we'll see.
Sinister - Recording The Carnage Ending throughout June. 4/5ths of a new lineup outside of Aad. I'm an apologist for the band through all phases and lineups of their career so I'll be awaiting this one, too.
Disma - In the midst of some sporadic live dates but should at least be hitting the studio very soon.
Grave - Endless Procession of Souls is said to be a little more of a groovier take on their last couple of albums. Just make it dirty and Swedish and the rest should fall into place.
Deeds of Flesh - Currently recording Portals to Canaan, it seems like it's taken forever considering the title was made known long before anything was written.
Rigor Mortis - Recorded their first album in over 20 years back in February, but haven't found a label for release yet.
Warbeast - Finishing recording for their second album sometime in June and is currently mixing 2 non-album songs for release.
A Band of Orcs - Just found these guys a few weeks ago through a couple of streamed demo songs. Self-titled debut should be out in August or September.

Great list! I didn't know about the Disgorge, Devourment, and am now especially excited for the new Pyrexia.

Wait..what new Pyrexia??? :o

Indeed. Now, what I know is based on what they've posted on their FB page and I have no shame in saying that. That being said, they are playing a one-off on June 30th at Ollie's Point in NY with Dehumanized, Internal Bleeding, and Suffocation as the headliner. If anyone is planning on heading to that show or is now interested in going, they may be able to get some more information from the aforementioned bands then to include the status of the next Suffocation album, of course.

I think it's about time for Dark Tranquillity to at least make an announcement. I'm not necessarily expecting a new full-length outing this year, but I do expect to be foaming at the mouth for it by the Holiday.

I am, of course, looking forward to Agalloch's Faustian Echoes, and will probably order it without delay once their tour for it is over.

I hope to be able to pick up a new Katatonia outing by Q4.

I am waiting anxiously for Mechina's Empyrean to be released for real.

I hope for a new album from Cult of Luna by Q4. It's been four years since their last full-length.

I am already foaming at the mouth for the next album by Tyrant of Death. He releases a new album roughly every two to three months on average. Somewhat, I hope he might include something else to coincide with it, like a T-shirt, or, altogether more likely, a wall poster. He comes out with some incredible artwork for an independent act without any physical distribution.

I rather wish that Void of Silence would give us an update, preferably about new material.

Eternal Tears of Sorrow need to announce something this year, at least.

Yes, I would love a new Cult of Luna album. Eternal Kingdom was a amazing album, darker and heavier than their other records, and I hope they'll continue with this style. I seriously doubt they can top the lyrical content of Eternal Kingdom, though. They did a amazing job of creating this weird, dark world of folkish legends, existing in the deranged, confused mind of a man who killed his own wife.

Ah, yes, Cult Of Luna.

I wonder if Neurosis will have a new one out by the end of 2012?

Yosuke said he was working on a cd pressing of it, just wait a few months unless you want to throw your money away for shitty vinyl.

Really looking forward to Deathspell Omega's Draught EP as well as Skagos 23 minute single entitled Anarchic. Down's EP is supposed to be out late summer or early fall and I really hope Electric Wizard put out a new full length as well as Eyehategod.

Cult of Luna and Neurosis mainly, but there are a few others I'm hopeful for which probably don't really fall under 'true' metal..

Thank god somebody other than me gives a shit about this. To me that album is almost a lost classic - not quite as good as Possessed, but pretty close. It has been mostly ignored for years - hopefully a good reissue will fix that.
