Not really into all of the songtitles, but I'm really looking forward to this.

It's so epic that Lord Worm himself posted in this. Really tells you something about the stature of this site.

Well, the word "holocaust" doesn't necessarily refer to the extermination of jews, even though there's a big association to that, and for obvious reasons.

Damn, those song titles are classic Lord Worm! I'm already itching to read those lyrics. I have no doubt they will be offensive, who knows in what way, though...very excited for the new release, and Lord Worm, you are the greatest lyricist (and vocalist) in all of death metal, can't wait to hear you take black metal over too!

Couldn't he have his status changed to something like "Lord Fucking Worm Himself" by one of the mods like they did with the Morbid Saint member we have here (he had his status changed to "Assassin")? The man who was behind the mic in stuff such as Blasphemy Made Flesh and None So Vile deserves much more than the "mallcore kid" tag.

Hopefully mr Worm won't flee for the fanboyism, but since I had faith in the project from the very beggining, now that a real drummer will be involved I can't just fucking wait for this being released.

Howdy.

I just posted a new thread, dealing with the comparative safety of some lyrics of mine, in this case for VIOLENCE IS GOLDEN.

If that gets past censorship, we'll try something rather more egregious later on.

I'll check in later, to see what y'all think.

Huh! Go figure. Well, if that's the case, let's just insert those lyrics here:

"VIOLENCE IS GOLDEN

In these, the Last Days
before Armageddon,
comes the mighty nightstorm, (and)
the Mist brings the Chosen

Black against blue,
the Raven has flown;
Darkness, now,
as the world closes

Now there be fewer dogs,
with each swing of the Axe;
all Aktion is prayer:
pray with the Axe

And the Chosen?
Feed them to the Young Lions;
in this Hellscape,
VIOLENCE is golden

KILL on Command,
KILL with Hearts so cold,
KILL because you can:
VIOLENCE is Golden"

Let's see what happens next. I'll check in later.

I think it's because your thread was a little bit confusing. Just for clarity, you are THE Lord Worm, of Cryptopsy/Rage Nucleaire, not just someone using that name online? This happens from time to time. Mark Sheldon can attest...

If so, good work spreading the VIOLENT word about what you're working on.

Alright, here's The Sorrow Children at Mourningside. These lyrics are nowhere near as questionable as they can get, but I'm testing the water, as it were.

"THE SORROW CHILDREN AT MOURNINGSIDE

(we are ashes)

Leave us in our Silent Mansions,
in this place of sunlight and roses,
for nothing dies here, not anymore;
the Aktions are done, and we are dust

To the mad laughter of machineguns,
we descended into such long graves;
we subhumans, we bleed in darkness,
that the light be not offended

We were here...
These are their houses, now
and we are here

We were here...
This is Mourningside,
and we are here

We were here,
in this House of Tears...
now we are here

We were here:
this is where they wept;
now we are here

We caught fire
and burned so easily;
we blackened,
and then we were ash (we are ashes)
We rose to faces,
eyeless faces
that bleed black Grief
in endless oceans of Black Suffering

Now we are here,
like rat bones on a plague ship,
in thy Garden
where there are only Others"

If, within a week, I find that no one has objected too stongly to this song (which, in passing, is actually a ghost story, albeit somewhat impolite), we'll go on from there.

I like them. Considering the first song seems to be advocating genocide, and the second perhaps from the perspective of those that were slaughtered, I'm curious to see what the more egregious ones will be like.

The second ones are somewhat better, quite a bit of repetition though. Which I can't judge out of context of how it will be used in the music. May I ask why you spell action with a K ?

Awesome lyrics. I don't think anyone would be massively offended. And I guess the people that could get offended, wouldn't be listening to this genre of music anyway. :-P

Damn, that didn't take long.

As to the "action-with-a-K" thing, both surmises are correct.
It isn't so much a "fascism" thing as a German thing, to put it in a proper historical context. Our ghosts, in this song, are rather bitter.
It's also a Behemoth thing, as well as an Ov Hell thing and, last but not least, a simple case of alternative spelling. Sometimes, different spelling, or grammar, or pronunciation, although incorrect on the surface, is actually kind of cool.
I refer, in this case, to the mighty Celtic Frost's Visual Aggression. "Vast signals" comes out as "wast synals", but it sounds cool, it sounds harsh. There are lots more of these "imperfections" out there and, perhaps perversely, I like 'em all.

Im very curious as to what this will become. I don't like the production quality on either of the songs, however.

And what's up with the Totenköpfe? Do you know what they stand for? A regular skull, I can understand. This one cannot be mistaken for what it is, considering the angle and skullcracks.

As I understand, It's not the final production job.

Are you perhaps using any themes of Ernest Junger in the first song?

I think we've all come to expect lyrics that are not only quite demented, but also immensely offensive in nature (relatively speaking), from Worm, which, considering the musical nature of Cryptopsy, is not incongruous. Despite the immense power and vehemence of Rage Nucléaire, it is in many ways more sophisticated, chiefly in that its form is less chaotic, and therefore an approach to lyrics which is more contained, if you will, is quite fitting. The power of the music is different from Cryptopsy's; there is less sheer sparkling rage, and more determined hatred, if you will. This difference certainly calls for a different lyrical style.

Lord Worm, I'd say you and Alvater have thus far been barking more than biting. The lyrics are not nice, obviously, but neither are they immensely offensive to, I'll wager, anyone who can tolerate the extremity of Rage Nucléaire in the first place. I do like them, however, though I wish to emphasise that no revisions to your lyrics are called for, you need not be afraid of excessively shocking listeners of Rage Nucléaire with them.

Every time I read a Lord Worm lyric, I get an overwhelming sense of envy. Some of the lines he spits out are nothing sort of genius, such as in "The Frantic Pace of Dying"...
Spoiler: show
They are living candles
and we will watch them burn

Their frantic pace of dying
is so hard to maintain

Into the arms of Solace you go:
(we sing the screams of men;)
"make a Joyful Noise unto the Lord,"
scream and scream again

Age or Beauty: which to burn?
There's always room for one less;
Suffering is the Master from Whom we learn:
keep this Secret and be blessed

In these, the last days before Revelation,
as Existence is fultile and Failure is not an option,
they bleed for Love of the Body,
and they die for the Body;
now, only silence remains...
a sylvan silence

The sick,
the dying,
the dead,
the rotting,
the damned...
...the burning

Their lives, as such, are but a trifle;
their sacrifices, much like compost,
will help to nourish the Seeds of the Future;
this august Body cannot cease to grow

"Arbeit macht frei"
until you die;
welcome to permanent downtime

They are living candles
and we will watch them burn out

All these small Deaths
of mind, of body...
Rest is for the weak

I love the new lyrics too...particularly "The Sorrow Children at Mourningside". The line, "to the mad laughter of machine guns, we descended into such long graves" is a perfect example of metaphors being used properly without coming across as a cop-out.

I could have sworn I had replied to the Totenkopf question, but my answer seems to have disappeared. Let's try it again: the Death's head insignia is symbolic of history's most extreme crime. No one, but no one, has ever murdered on such a massive scale, with only hatred in mind (Stalin's purges don't count - that was just paranoia). We don't actually subscribe to the whole anti-semitic thing, but in the same way you can see fans wearing Jason Voorhees, or Michael Myers, or Fulci-the-Master t-shirts, we put up the symbol of history's most extensive mass murder on display with our logo. I repeat, it isn't about the hate, it's about KILLING (and lots of it).
