it's with the ex-Hatesphere singer Jacob Bredahl, they play an interesting mixture between death/thrash and hardcore with a semi-buzzsaw guitar tone, they have quite the later era Entombed vibe

Entrails - Raging Death

Heard one song off this and it reminded me of Grave way too much to ignore. So far so good, nice mix of all the Swedish death metal paradigms(even some nice melody) but they're most like a mix between Grave and Entombed. If you're a fan of old school Swedish death metal then this is a must, heartily enjoying it.

I got these over the last week or so 1 lot from a private purchase at MA and the other from a Discogs seller in Switzerland

Adversarial - All Idols Fall Before the Hammer [wicked stuff]
Blasphemophagher - Empire of Nuclear Apocalypse [pretty good, needs a few more listens, some really catchy tunes]
Death - Symbolic [original US]
Diocletian - Doom Cult [finally!]
Immolation - Majesty and Decay [US, legit version to replace my hideous counterfeit one]
Malignancy - Eugenics [cool and a little different to what I was expecting]
Mitochondrion - Archaeaeon [remastered reissue, holy shit this is good]
Mitochondrion - Parasignosis [this also is really good]
Portal - Swarth [original gatefold CD]

Revenge - Victory.Intolerance.Mastery [FRA, more super vicious hell-noise for the collection]
High On Fire - Spitting Fire Live Vol. 1 [2 separate CDs, I didn't even know this existed till I bought it]
High On Fire - Spitting Fire Live Vol. 2 [there's a double LP available too for the die hards]

Great haul as usual! Some excellent Canadian metal there!
Though I find it a little odd that you live in NZ and didn't have a copy of Doom Cult... Though I realize the label is based in Ireland.

Thanks dude I love the Canadian stuff! next to Australia it's probably the best source of metal I like :nods:
I hadn't really been looking for it, I'm fairly new to some of these NZ bands really, I wanted to get it from the Witchrist guy I got the other stuff from recently but they had none so yeah, got it from a dude in the USA by way of a Metal Archives trade [fun times]

The snare drum? good, isn't it? looks like I have to play that puppy again aye :oh shit:
I played Archaeaeon first and it must have made more of an impression on me, Parasignosis just seemed a little less exciting
Now I'm wondering how different the original Archaeaeon sounds to the remastered one!

I'm with dread, I bought archaeaeon when it came out so it's better to me for that. The reissue really does sound better to boot. I listen to both that and Parasignosis on the regular.

My fellings on Aversarial's snare on that album are probably close to legendary now even talking to the drummer and guitarist about it and getting to the bottom of it and admission it wasn't quite on purpose to be so loud. Oh and the vinyl release of it has a better different mix than the cd.

re Adversarial - All Idols Fall Before the Hammer

Oh, that snare drum, yeah I hear that
I did notice something sounded not-quite-right but had a few new albums so it slipped under the radar
But the album slays unholy arse so it gets a free pass I reckon, killer artwork too and even the lettering inside looks cool

Props forestcorpse, keeping it interesting always and A+ taste! You've inspired me to go on a hike this weekend, so thank you.

Has anyone got the new Ruins of Beverast DLP? Just ordered it off 20 buck spin, kind of curious what it comes with the description on the site is from the digipak I believe.

Well...

But I got mine from Ván Records. There is a poster, but it came with an addition cost (though was only €0.50), and the black vinyl lavish edition came with a few other things.

Ván wrote:
The Ruins Of Beverast - "Blood Vaults" lavish 2LP

- three panel hardcover with bronze hotfoil embossing
- heavy 180g black virgin vinyl
- 20 paged full-coloured 12" booklet, rough paper
- huge b/w two sided printed poster (120 x 90cm / DinA0+)
- two-sided full-coloured Din A2 poster
- cd listening copy
- Artwork by Axel Hermann (Grave, Morgoth, Asphyx, Samael, etc.)

Hope that helped?

Yes! thanks very much I think im getting the same one as you, it was $40 (w/ tax + shipping) so I dont think it will be the Die Hard edition. Really hope I get a poster with it as well, feel as though forty bucks should land me a poster, but who knows they are probably just marked up because of the ridiculous international shipping costs.

It was agonizing going through the 20 buck spin shop, so much killer music. Really was a test of will, not loading up my cart to deplete the rest of my paycheck.

Got the new Septicflesh reissue in the mail today (came with a free CD from a band called Hegemon, pretty cool black metal) and I raided someone's tape collection today with a few records to boot. PLenty of rare thrash and stuff that would be pretty insanely priced on disc.
