"Das Tor" by Paysage d'Hiver. Paysage d'Hiver is my favorite band, so the second I saw the preorder I ordered it. One of 300, and it is a GLORIOUS album!!!! Only on cassette for now, and no way to rip, but I'm ok with that. The cassette format works perfectly fine for such black metal. Very happy with that purchase.
Also bought Winterkalte on the same order, and I love having a physical copy. It's a CD, but I don't care. Winterkalte is a favorite of Paysage d'Hiver for me.
Though all are my favorite....except for Nacht. That's the only one I wasn't impressed with, but whatever.

MindMaze - Mask of Lies

Bought it last Friday at a show my band did with them. Haven't listened to it yet, but I dug the crap out of the songs live, so I'm probably gonna enjoy this greatly.

I'm not very technologically inclined...I have a walkman type player with a headphone jack. I need to research this then!

damn it, now I'm going to have to revisit that album again!!!! I have heard mixed views on it. Same with Schattengang. I LOVE Schattengang, probably because it was the first Paysage album I ever listened to, so I completely fell in love with it. Some seem to think it's a weaker album of his, but I really enjoy it. Either way, I'll probably listen to every album 100 times over or more in my lifetime.

Do it man, or you could wreck the tape if it ever gets chewed, plus it's fun :nods:

These guys are really killer. I haven't bought the album yet, but everything I've heard on YouTube says they are awesome prog/power. "Never Look Back" is particularly amazing!

The prog influences only really come out in a few songs. They're much more a mix of power and traditional metal.

Another good haul for me today. Suffocation - Despise the Sun, Death - Individual Though Patterns, Master - The Human Machine, Entombed - Clandestine, and I Shalt Become - Poison. Apparently people love to sell all their old metal CDs to disc replay in hoffman estates cause every time I go in there it's always chalk full of good shit. If you're in the area you really should check it out.

That's the sign of a truly great band; all of the albums are contenders for the best, even including such a large discography as PdH's.

I am guilty of underrated this band over the years, but now it's time to praise and spread the hate...

Abhorer - Zygotical Sabbatory Anabapt
Mortuary Drape - Mourn Path
Avenger - Shadows of the Damned
Grand Belial's Key - Judeobeast Assassination

My collection of 90s Mortuary Drape is complete; all that's left to obtain is their 80s demos and Buried In Time.

EDIT: Bugger, forgot that Tolling 13 Knell is from 2000. Such an obscure sounding album.

Although not really a "purchase" by the literal definition, Scion A/V not only sent me a CD of the new Stormcrow EP by The Gates of Slumber... but the vinyl, too! Didn't ask for it, didn't even know they were made.

Got 3 albums in the mail today
Skin Like Iron - Descent into Light 12"
Savage Circus - Of Doom and Death
Angra - Rebirth
Image
I've been meaning to get all of these albums forever, especially the Savage Circus and Angra ones. I originally bought the shitty Amazon press of ODAD because I didn't read the item description, so I'm glad I finally have a legit issue of it that doesn't look like shit.
