Cool! I'd get them from NWN! but the shipping is always a turn off, plus I'd rather have originals if I can find them.
Thanks for the heads up though I didn't realise they had been reissued.
I quite like that 'green glow' logo on the Vektor

Check out track 3 on Henbane - Vintage Black Magic love that tune :nods:

For the sake of clarity: I didn't mean NWN had done the repressing. They just have them in stock.

And absolutely to Vintage Black Magic. That song was the one to really jump out at me on first listen -- not that every other song I've so far heard from CdG hasn't been fucking tremendous and better than most black metal I've heard in the last decade, but yeah, VBM is great. Definitely music for candles, incense, and head transporting.

@ Machine_Dead - And here I was thinking it was because of Obscura... By Jove, the shock when I scrolled down! :D Would you mind taking details pics of the Pestilence debut? I've never ever seen that version of it.

How is the Obscura reissue guys? I didn't end up buying it but then I was filled with regret so I snagged a copy this morning to make myself feel better. Thank you Amazon!

Do pray tell, What in the world do you do that allows you to afford these epic hauls seemingly every other day??? I need to know so I can defect from the military and send my resume' to your employer.

Yeah, I'm glad to have finally found it for a relatively decent price. Compared to what seems to be a usual price for this CD, I think the €40 I spent on it is fair. I'm generally not stepping over the €30-mark, but made an exception here.

It's great, it doesn't sound like they did any type of remastering (not that it needed one anyways). Just a straight reissue.

I'm kinda annoyed that From Wisdom to Hate wasn't offered as a standalone CD, it seems it's only available as a CD+LP bundle. I guess since there's been more reissues of that than Obscura, they figured people would just buy one of those instead of wasting time making more CDs for a standalone release.

From Wisdom to Hate was reissued already, you could get the older reissue easily mate.
You don't have to get the latest thing out, jeez kids these days

Originals of Wisom to Hate are pretty cheap too, I grabbed one for $11 a couple weeks ago. Glad to hear Obscura sounds good!

Yes, I explained as much in my last sentence.

Besides, I never said I HAD to have the newest one, but it would've been nice to buy that and Obscura as a pair of CDs. I just thought it was odd they only had the CD as a bundle with the LP.

Maybe once the vinyl sells out they'll have CDs on their own, some might even show up when vinyl junkies pass them on :nods:

Mine hasn't arrived here yet, I'm getting a bit anxious about it...

NWN grab:

Swallowed - Lunarterial
Protector - Ominous Message of Brutality
Order from Chaos -- Will to Power Gold Ink TS

I've been wanting to check out some Protector FOR-EV-ER. Really excited to finally have Urm the Mad in some format, even if I would have preferred the real thing. No idea about Swallowed but BatJim's review seemed really promising. Doom/death isn't normally my thing though so it may be a risk. The Order from Chaos shirt is doooooope.

Bought some death metal...

Image

Horrendous - The Chills
Rattenfänger - Epistolae Obscurorum Virorum

Is the Horrendous artwork supposed to look like this? I think their logo is different than I've seen it before.

From what I've found the new album and reissues of older albums have the skulls in the logo but their old albums [the originals] don't have the skulls :nods:

I have a pile of new stuff here but I have other things to do at the moment :grumble:

A few nice Discogs purchases from the past couple months:

Image

Cenotaph - Riding Our Black Oceans
Gorefest - Mindloss
Imprecation - Theurgia Goetia Summa
Nagelfar - Virus West
Revenant - Prophecies of a Dying World
Runemagick - On Funeral Wings

That Cenotaph is weird but it's pretty good. I hadn't heard the Runemagick album before I bought it and it's excellent.

I just bought a very neat compilation from NWN! called "No Speed Limit". It's 8 tapes of various Canadian thrash/speed bands from back in the day. The big seller for me was a copy of the Voivod live demo "No Speed Limit", but there's a bunch of other bands I'm excited to check out. Vensor looks like KISS by way of Venom. I think it's going to be a lot of fun to dig into.

Also grabbed Ares Kingdom's debut. I've been re-obsessing over Incendiary lately and decided it was time to check the debut. Such a cool band to me. I'm very enamored of Chuck Keller. Another one of those dudes who never lost the flame or turned lame. AK is like Order from Chaos filtered through years of experience and a love of trad metal.

Can't wait!
