NICE! The label that put out the Khemmis cassette also released my album on cassette. I'm hoping we can get some copies of it in the DDR distro.

Hey Jonpo, what'd you think of it?

God damn dude. It surprised me in a few ways. It's a lot more nimble than I expected. The cover art rules but it had me imagining a much more stiff, heavy, lumbering sound. It's jaunty in ways Di'anno Maiden could pull off. I was kind of taken aback how much I loved it. The last track feels a little more special than the rest, somehow. Complex, muscular, confident. It's shot up the list of my personal favorite records and unless there's some sort of staying-power issue I expect it to stay there. I'm looking forward to checking out the next one.

Judas Priest-Hell Bent for Leather on CD. Amazon's got some really cheap CDs sometimes, this was $3.99. I'm just filling in gaps in my collection for various bands now.

I hate buying digital but I got a free iTunes gift card at work. Good excuse to buy some obscure thrash:

Denial - Antichrist President
Eviction - The World is Hours Away
Flames - Last Prophecy
Indestroy - Indestroy

That Eviction album is fucking tight. I love the NYHC sound it has.

It's the only one of those I've gone through so far and it definitely has some very cool songwriting. Feels a bit lengthy and unfocused at times, but there are some great moments on it. Pretty happy with it so far.

I didn't care for it too much at first. I actually sold it a long time ago and then rebought it last year. I think I just got way more into Leeway and Cro-Mags so I started digging Eviction more.

I sold some movies I never watch to the local indie record store and was able to buy myself Gire's s/t album with the store credit.

It's pretty zany avant-garde black metal. It's been on my wantlist for a little while so it was fun to finally grab it. I've listened to it once through and really dig it.

Got a decent little bonus check from work and I've been on a bit of a tear. Some of these I'm ridiculously excited about:

Full Moon - s/t LP (Space rockin' nwobhm from the late 80s? Talk about idiosyncratic. I've wanted to hear this album for YEARS. Completely forgot about it once I had the means. Puuuuumped!)

Demon Bitch - Hellfriends LP (C'mon, you knew this was going to happen eventually!)

Manilla Road - Dreams of Eschaton 2LP (Finally! NWN stocked a bunch of goodies from High Roller. You better getchu some!)

Also kind of curious about that. You always seem to get such regular big hauls, forestcorpse, have you ever posted pics of your whole collection?

I've been waiting to catch this for a decent price, with the OBI, poster, and inserts included. Finally snagged it from a US seller on discogs. I don't honestly even know what it's called (X-Bomber I guess?), or what the music is like, but the cover art is amazing and Bow Wow have put out a few insanely stellar records. They've also put out some clunkers. We'll see! If nothing else it's a killer fucking showpiece. (After doing 30 seconds of reading on the MA page I now know this is gonna play like the soundtrack to a tv show and probably won't be very heavy at all.)

Great score!
As a huge Bow Wow fan, a few years ago, before i knew about Discogs, i was searching for this album for quite some time as well. It took me some months before a copy of it showed up on Ebay.com, but i got it and never regretted it (it was in like-new condition and also complete with poster and Obi). I think i paid about 50 bucks, including expensive overseas shipping, but according to the rarity of the item (and Popsike...) the price i paid still seemed ok.
Only two of the songs here have lyrics, all the other are instrumentals, but the album as a whole is really enjoyable :)

I have a friend who's always sending me new Bandcamp links, saying "listen to this and that". For once he struck gold, ha ha! Really great stuff indeed. :nods:

That is really good to hear! I ordered it without doing any research. Didn't catch until afterwards that the songs are all instrumentals, and they look so short I just assumed they don't "do" much. Hopefully it'll get some spins! They are a great band at their peak but it seems like they also put out some real crap so I've been treading lightly. Signal Fire, Asian Volcano, and Warning From Stardust all rule. I like some of their big cheesy 80s metal too as Vow Wow. I'm curious about Charge and the debut these days.
