Wow, what are the odds of finding all 3 of those Vio-Lence releases separately and in first press?

At my record shops I frequent, that Eternal Nightmare probably would've been the 2005 reissue and any copies of Oppressing the Masses would just be the reissue with the Torture Tactics EP added on. Any separate first press stuff would get swiped up immediately, probably before I even knew it was ever there lol.

I bought a few of my favorite albums on vinyl the past weekend. Metallic's ...Justice and Depeche Mode's Violator. Pretty pleased with myself! :D

Curiously, when I bought the new Kreator, Amazon let me download it, and it included a second disk with a live performance from Wacken. The actual physical album did not include the second disk.

By "second disc" do you mean audio or video? I was a bit pissed off because the US ltd version only came with a DVD, so I had to get the German digibook for the Blu-ray, and I wanted the US version's cover art :(

Oh yeah, recently ordered/purchased/received:

Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time
Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of A Seventh Son
Iron Maiden - Best of the Best (original 2CD digibook)
Moonsorrow - Suden Uni (CD/DVD reissue)
Moonsorrow - Kivenkantaja
Nokturnal Mortum - The Taste of Victory
Sigh - In Somniphobia

So that's me doubled-up on all the old Maiden stuff aside from Live After Death and the other live ones. I don't see any point getting the original Live After Death CD since a) it's only 3/4s of the album and b) the remaster is nowhere near as brickwalled as, say, Number of the Beast or Somewhere In Time. In fact, it has the highest DR of any of the remasters, only a couple of DB lower than the original release.

At first all I saw was Torture Tactics. The others were in the bottom of the box laying flat. I've gotten lucky at this place before with some first presses of some Overkill. He had a couple copies of Testament's The New Order, but I already own it.

I know this probably isn't everybody's cup of tea on metal archives but man I fucking love Meat Loaf, especially Bat Out of Hell I & II. I've become pretty obsessed with picking up other albums that Jim Steinman worked on, like Bonnie Tyler's Faster Than the Speed of Night (includes "Total Eclipse of the Heart") and Pandora's Box (the first band to record "It's All Coming Back to Me Now"). All of that stuff is worth a look if you're a fan of the Jim Steinman/Meat Loaf collabs.

Haha, I'll look a bit into them. I love Meat Loaf. It's where my musical journey started. I went from Meat Loaf to AC/DC, to Guns N Roses, to Iron Maiden, Judas Priest etc, etc.
At the same record fair I got these, I also saw Jim Steinman's Bad For Good. But I thought it was a bit pricey so thought I would think about it but instead I forgot about it....

In the last 7 days I've bought the new Pallbearer, new Mastodon, new Pillorian and new Creeper records.

I love all of them as well so this is just like the best week ever.

Bad for Good is a pretty decent album, it's basically a Meat Loaf record with a less talented singer hahaha but it definitely has its charms.

Picked up these from an old school CD shop like it goddamn well should be done. Fireball is awesome - just earthy, hard rocking blues with a larger than life twist. What a great fucking band.

Just got the album "Defying Gravity" by the band Desdinova. Excellent thrash metal that is rather tame and melodic.

I suggest the song "Faster Than Light."

Nice! It seems like Minnesota has a decent number of symphonic black metal bands. Are there any more you would recommend? (I also like False, and Idolum is pretty solid.)

EDIT: also, Pestifere is pretty good, though they're more melo-black I guess

I think the Philippines metal scene is becoming more active with more bands releasing more material.
One of these days, I'll create a thread to discuss the Philippine metal scene more thoroughly. But for now I'll recommend these bands. Look them up on Youtube:

1) Mass Hypnosia - violent death/thrash metal band in the '80s Kreator/Demolition Hammer vein. Just released their 2nd album "Toxiferous Cyanide" on Germany's Ragnarok label.

2) Pathogen - old school '90s styled death metal with doomy passages. Already has 3 albums under their belt the most recent of which was 2012's "Forged in the Crucible of Death".

3) Down From the Wound - brutal death metal band whose albums were released by Sevared and Comatose records respectively. T

4) Paganfire - thrashing metal militants who have been ripping it up since the early '00s. They are one of the more prolific bands in the scene as they have been releasing material year after year. Their most recent output was their split with Sabbat (Jpn).

5) Toxemia - doomy death metal who's most recent release was 2015's "Ancient Demons".

Hopefully I'll have the time to create that thread soon.
