Oh man! i have been wanting to get this for so long now, the last one i was watching went for heaps on Ebay. Do you mind me asking how much you paid for yours?

It was finally reissued by CM last year, and is now available for a reasonable price... unless you're after an original pressing, then I guess that doesn't help you...

Okay, then...

Though for the record, I do dig Nocturnal Fear (Pist Chris/Rev. Slavehunter's current band).

I've picked up quite a bit of stuff lately so there will be another post coming sometime soon, but for now:

Some recent pickups:
Image
1. Battlecross - War of Will
2. Belphegor - Conjuring The Dead
3. Revocation - Deathless
4. The Black Dahlia Murder - Everblack
5. Job For A Cowboy - Sun Eater
6. Machine Head - Bloodstone & Diamonds

I also did the 30 CD's for $30 Relapse Mailorder 3rd party grab bag. They got me on this one even though it was only 30 bucks...

Image
1. Soat - Dastgaah
2. Daath Shadow - Crown For Kings
3. Hugi - Solarliod
4&5. Neptune - Acts of Supremacy
6. ART 238 - Empire of the Atom
7. Brazil - A Hostage and the Meaning of Life
8. Mourning Caress - Inner Exile
9. Rabies Caste - S/T

Image
10. Gruntsplatter - Chronicling the Famine
11. Enemy of Myself - The Fury
12. Maxmillion - S/T
13&14. Obliterate - Something Wrong
15. Apartment 213 - Cleveland Power Violence
16&17. Sanctus Daemoneon - Grey Metropolis
18. Angel Hair - Pregnant With the Senior Class

Image
19. Souless Profanation - Summoning Heresy
20. Black River - Black N' Roll
21. Muad'dib - The Spark Marks the End
22. On Paths of Torment - The Arsonist Plague
23. Lacuna Coil - Broken Crown Halo Deluxe Edition
24. Adastra - Death or Domination
25&26. Bhelliom - The Colossal Tragedy
27. Greifenstein - Von Inneren Welten

Image
28. Rwake - Voices of Omens (Japanese Edition)
29. Postmortem - Constant Hate
30. Domination Black - Haunting

EDIT: I haven't had a chance to check out much from the grab bag yet, so I don't have a pick of the litter from it. But, from the first picture Belphegor has been favorite so far.

No kidding. I wasn't supposed to get any duplicates either and I got 4. That's Relapse Mailorder for you though. They come by their awful reputation pretty honestly.

EDIT: I felt like whoever packed this box was sitting there just like this when they finished.

Dude, they clearly say "no double ups" so that's insane.

Belphegor - Conjuring The Dead would easily be the pick of the litter!

Except the first 6 albums aren't part of the grab bag Dread. So yeah, it's that bad! I'd be pissed off if that happened to me, and 30 bucks isn't even that much money in the end!

That grab bag is more like a garbage bag... All I recognize is Lacuna Coil! I've never done one of those (they're an attractive idea until you see the shipping cost, generally).

I'd blow a gasket if I got that grab bag. I wouldn't even care if it were a bunch of CDs I don't want, but the fact that they clearly state that they don't give duplicates and he's got 4 fucking pairs of them is ridiculous.

Atomikylä - Erkale (CD) [Dark Buddha Rising / Oranssi Pazuzu sideproject. I like it better than the two main bands]
Barbelith - Mirror Unveiled (CD) [Hipster black metal.]
Bathory - Blood on Ice (CD) [2003 reissue. One of my favorite Bathory albums.]
Black Lung - Black Lung (CD) [Great heavy psychedelic rock with some doom elements. I don't think they use bass guitar.]
Black Wasteland - Where Light Can Not Intrude (CD) [Blind purchase. German "biker doom". Has moments but I'm not competely sold.]
Black Wasteland - Dehydration (CD) [Same as above but a newer release.]
Blue Dawn - Cycle of Pain (CD) [Obscure experimental hard rock/doom metal with female vocals. Kind of cool, but needs more listening. Blue Dawn's chick reminds me of Serpent Warning's new vocalist, so that's a first.]
Corr Mhóna - Corrguíneacht (CD) [Irish pagan/doom. Yes, it sounds like Primorial, Male Mordha, etc. This EP is kind of skippable.]
Corr Mhóna - Dair (CD) [This full-length is not skippable. This is just excellent, especially the clean vocals. This is album the other Irish bands, including Primordial, need to beat this year. I'll will probably end up in the minority for preferring Corr Mhóna but that's all right.]
Crone - Crone (CD) [Love this album so it's nice to finally own it on CD. Shitty, cheap looking digipak but at least it arrived in mint condition.]
Eldritch Rites - Night of the Witch Grinder (CD-R) [The production is quite bad but the music rocks. Expecting more from this band in future.]
Harvest Bell - Wheel of Foretaste (CD) [Finnish psychedelic doom rock. It's OK. Was recommended to me and I found it cheap. No harm done.]
Horseskull - Horseskull (CD) [One of the best debut albums of 2014, imo. Sludge/southern metal band that actually writes memorable songs. Sometimes the vocals remind me of Midnight. Highly recommended. The guys used to play in Soulpreacher if anyone remembers those dudes anymore.]
L'Ira del Baccano - Terra 42 (CD) [Still doom/space rock but now recorded in a studio. Need more time with this. Has potential to grow. Just need to get in the mood for instrunetal music.]
Mothwind - In the Clutches of the Novae (CD) [Prog in the vein of later Mastodon and Tool. Not my forté but I liked what I heard and sci-fi lyrical themes is always a winner in my book.]
Ride for Revenge - Enter the Gauntlet (CD) [Given to me by the band's drummer. Haven't listend to it yet.]
Torrid Husk - Caesious (CD) [Black metal freebie. Not particularly pleased with. Boring is the word.]
Warcrab - Warcrab (CD) [Death/sludge that actually sounds like a combination of the two genres.]
Warcrab - Ashes of Carnage (CD) [The 2nd release, better than the first.]

I assume it's likely a reference to one of the bands on the split, though I wouldn't know which one. :???:

The Western Front was one of the best albums released last year, Promulgation of the Fall is one of the best albums released this year (maybe THE best), and Gesundrian is really great, too (I love the cover art). Nice haul!

Thanks, makes it all the more exciting for me to get these. Hopefully will arrive in coming days.

Which version of Diocletian - Gesundrian did you get?
I'm not too sure if Sacriphyx would stand up if you're comparing it to that monster or that Dead Congregation - Promulgation of the Fall

Bought this at the Illdisposed show 2 days ago:

Image

- Illdisposed - Sense The Darkness shirt
- At The Grave - At The Grave [Mentality Records 2014, side project from the Illdisposed vocalist with (ex-)members from Dawn Of Demise and Panzerchrist; In fact I just realized that every member in this band was in Panzerchrist at some point, interesting... ]

and some new old stuff that came in the mail:

Image

Grave - You'll Never See... [Century Media 1992, a very underrated death metal gem, and ofcourse this release had Sandstrom on vocals ;) , killer artwork too]
Napalm Death - Harmony Corruption [Earache Records 1990, Still needed what is probably their best album imo, I think this is some sort of repress because of the Docdata UK mention ]
Dismember - Pieces [Nuclear Blast 1992, yaay more Dismember :D ]
Pestilence - Consuming Impulse [Roadracer Records 1989, one more cd away from having the early Pestilence discography on cd, the Malleus Malleficarum album is still missing, will be quite the ordeal finding the first press of that one (and for a decent price :/ ), so I'll probably buy the reissue first and take my time :p ]

Image

Morbid Angel - Altars Of Madness [Earache Records 1989, death metal essential from which i needed to have the original, it's the MPO 02@@ version, close enough... ]
Incantation - Onward To Golgotha [Relapse Records 1992, took me a while to find this one being shipped from NL/Germany for a somewhat doable price, there just ain't too many of these being sold within Europe kinda weird, will be even more worse for 'Upon The Throne of Apocalypse' ]
Sentenced - Shadows Of The Past [Thrash Records 1991, it's the c. THR 015Cd version with transparent inner circle, original version apparently.... according to what 'some' people say, anyways I love this album, one of the best Findeath albums imo, needed to have this album with the original artwork too, might buy one of the reissues (with different artwork) that includes the demo material later...]

Wow. That Relapse grab bag is a pile of shit. Holy fuck. I'd take that Rwake import and throw the rest in the nearest river. Fuck that. Even if it is only $30, I'd rather spend that money on music I actually want and like.

I'm currently abstaining from new purchases for a little while. I bought dozens of new CDs in the past month, spending way too much money on a mad rush through eBay, Dark Descent, and World Terror Committee. I (my wallet) needs a rest.

Here's something I was surprised as hell to receive on Tuesday:

Image
Image

Karisma mailed it early to account for shipping time but I definitely wasn't expecting to get it so soon. As for the music, it's more self-titled and less Noregs vaapen and the riffs are aggressively non-catchy, but I love Taake unconditionally and it's growing on me.

THR 015Cd version with transparent inner circle, original version apparently.... according to what 'some' people say, anyways I love this album, one of the best Findeath albums imo, needed to have this album with the original artwork too, might buy one of the reissues (with different artwork) that includes the demo material later...]

Very awesome haul mate! For 'Shadows of the past' I think it is the best finnish death metal album, that sick mood...

But for the Illdisposed one, truly I can't understand their importance or success in the scene, an average and annoying band with the cult status :annoyed:

But probably, I'm the one who think that...

I got this one super-cheap a while back. Excellent stuff, very underrated.

Never heard this one, but I have seen the, uh, interesting cover art. How is it?

Yeah, it was quite good, but, like anything else, it'll need more listens to truly sink in.

Interesting is the light way of putting it. :P Haven't actually had a chance to hear this one yet but I have heard a few tracks on YouTube and I liked it. Keen to hear it all in album format. :)

well I do understand that's it's a love it or hate it kinda band, I'm on the 'love it' side... Even their old material isn't exactly isn't really appreciated by everyone. But I do like that although their sound has gone through quite some experimental phases through the years, you can still put on any album of them whether old or new, and you can instantly recognize that it's Illdisposed :). I can say for sure there really isn't any other band in the world that sounds like them; they're sound can be brutal, groovy, industrial-tinged and melodic and they can get away with it, hehe... It's just too bad that they never had that much exposure eventhough they had two albums released under Roadrunner... I did however saw a videoclip of them once on MTV a really long time ago... So someone was doing something right in the promo department (for a short time), just too bad that eventhough they are pretty original sounding, that they just can't seem to get their breakthrough... In contrrary to for example Kataklysm, who might have some similar elements in their music, but in the end have less to offer musically than Illdisposed IMO :)

I got these in the mail today. Looks like my Dead Congregation set is complete with these two:

DC - Promulgation of the Fall
DC - Purifying Consecrated Ground EP
Antichrist - Forbidden World
