Very awesome haul mate! For 'Shadows of the past' I think it is the best finnish death metal album, that sick mood...

But for the Illdisposed one, truly I can't understand their importance or success in the scene, an average and annoying band with the cult status :annoyed:

But probably, I'm the one who think that...

well I do understand that's it's a love it or hate it kinda band, I'm on the 'love it' side... Even their old material isn't exactly isn't really appreciated by everyone. But I do like that although their sound has gone through quite some experimental phases through the years, you can still put on any album of them whether old or new, and you can instantly recognize that it's Illdisposed :). I can say for sure there really isn't any other band in the world that sounds like them; they're sound can be brutal, groovy, industrial-tinged and melodic and they can get away with it, hehe... It's just too bad that they never had that much exposure eventhough they had two albums released under Roadrunner... I did however saw a videoclip of them once on MTV a really long time ago... So someone was doing something right in the promo department (for a short time), just too bad that eventhough they are pretty original sounding, that they just can't seem to get their breakthrough... In contrrary to for example Kataklysm, who might have some similar elements in their music, but in the end have less to offer musically than Illdisposed IMO :)

Illdisposed is great when you put it into perspective. Their first three albums are all very similar but you can tell there's some sort of evolution. Afterwards though... Retro is usuless, Kokaiinum is absolute shit, and everything from 1-800 Vindication onwards is more or less the same with slight variations. It isn't radically different from say, There's Something Rotten, but it's actually different enough to make me not care about them. They sound very polished and samey, completely formulaic if you will.

Curiously enough, I also can't stand "new" Kataklysm. Last album I enjoyed was Shadows & Dust. Kind of the same reasoning than above to be honest.

My order from S.A. Music arrived today:

Image
Sparespine (doujin ongaku/power metal):
楽園の残響(上)
燃えるからだとひきかえに

Undhifeat (power metal):
Out of Phase [EP]
After the Dark [EP]

Nameless One (melodeath/power metal):
千の記憶と名も無き剣 ~Thousand Memories And Nameless Sword~ [EP]

Pick of the litter: haven't played all of this stuff yet, but I'm leaning towards those Sparespine CDs though. Pretty weird/interesting stuff.

Demilich - 20th Adversary of Emptiness, Finally picked this bad ass release up from Ominous Domain, preparing for MDF 2015 when I get to see Demilich. Going to be cray. I think this has a couple of studio recordings that were done more recently. Be interesting to hear that.

Manilla Road - The Deluge, Picked this up from the show last night. Good times. They sounded great. Iron Man too!

So this is the haul i received tonight, bought them off a friend who is selling all of his collection to put money towards a new house. Sad for him but some need to be done, So im completing my collections of the bands, obviously the Enslaved stuff i didn't own any of them until now. Im actually new to Enslaved and loving them so far, the only album i have listened to is "Below the Lights" and its awesome, very different. Most of the Enslaved and Napalm Deaths are first presses, including the Vikingligr Veldi (Deathlike Silence) score considering the price i paid for them. The Slayer albums he gave to me for free, don't really care for those albums but who turns down free cds. Sorry i haven't titled every cd i didn't have time tonight

Welp, guess I'm not getting my Slough Feg CD after all. The seller contacted me earlier today and said that they noticed skipping on some tracks when they listened to it before preparing to package it. They gave me a full refund. While I do appreciate that they took the time to review the CD before sending it out, I'm pissed (not at them of course) because that fucking album is difficult to find (specifically, the 2002 reissue), and the few copies of the original that I've found are expensive as well.

Seriously? This is one of the easiest available Black Metal classics. Even the firstpress is available anytime and often sells for less than 10 Euros. I sold/traded at least 12-15 firstpress copies over the last 3 years as it was very often part of CD lots that I bought or traded.

Is that possible for something that has no scratches on the CD? Or is that a different process altogether? I've never heard of resurfacing CDs to fix skips.

no scratches? you didn't say that, you mean the thing has some kind of 'mastering error' ?
The seller could have had a better offer... or maybe their gear is faulty

I guess it must be a mastering error. I only brought up there being no scratches because they didn't mention anything of the sort in their description. They had it listed under NM for the media condition and VG+ for the sleeve condition.

hmm interesting, where are they selling it, Discogs? keep an eye on their inventory and current auctions/trade lists etc to see if they sell it to someone else, the buyer may even say "hey look what I got" and post it somewhere.

@ Ranur5555 some good stuff in there mate!
