Nice! How much did they set you back though? I've been after The Treasures Within on CD for a while now. I only have the Floga Records vinyl reissue.

Crystallion - Hundred Days
Orden Ogan - Vale [Reissue]
Sabaton - The Last Stand

I'm really happy that I finally snagged a Crystallion album. They're one of the most underrated power metal bands out there.

Yeah, they're not the cheapest cd's out there...
Treasures From Within; let's just say in between 50 and 100 euro's
Unbound: 40 euro's

Regular prices for those two discs. It's a real shame that the only alternatives are really shitty reissues... How come no one has the balls to pick those up for proper reissuing?! Come on CM, you've been reissuing everything left and right!!! :grumble:

No pics but I've spoiled myself yesterday on Amplifest:

Downfall of Gaia - Downfall of Gaia
Downfall of Gaia - Suffocating in the Swarm of Cranes
Downfall of Gaia - Aeon Unveils the Thrones of Decay
Hope Drone - Hope Drone
Hope Drone - Cloak of Ash
Tesa - Ghost

Those were three massive shows, especially Hope Drone. I mean, holy fuck! :o

Herbie Hancock - Thrust (CBS 1974, UK)
Magma - Mëkanïk Dëstruktïẁ Kömmandöh (Jazz Village 2015, French, originally released 1973)
Eberhard Weber - The Colours of Chloë (ECM 1974, German)
Eberhard Weber - The Following Morning (ECM 1977, German)

I think Magma are pretty metal in spirit if not in form, and I think a lot of the weirder, more avantgarde art-metal bands have strong influences from them--Arcturus, for one. Also SÏX ÜMLAÜTS in the title are very metal indeed.

A few purchases recently:

Borrowed Time - Borrowed Time (LP)
Crypt Vapor - Erotik Maniac (LP)

These I got on sale for $10 each through NWN. The Borrowed Time is for me, as that's one of my favorite albums in recent memory. I've had it on CD since the release but I decided I wanted it on record as well, and it was 40% off. Crypt Vapor is a John Carpenter-worship act created by Will from Tarot/The Wizar'd/Heavy Chains records. It's described thusly: "Nearly 30 minutes of old school horror soundtrack worship in the vein of JOHN CARPENTER, FABIO FRIZZI, GOBLIN and even TANGERINE DREAM." I bought this for a buddy for his birthday, but I may end up having to snag myself a copy because that sounds incredible and I trust Will wholeheartedly.

From ebay:

Voivod -- RRRÖÖÖAAARRR (Noise International pressing, LP)

I bid $16 on this on ebay as a goof. I can't believe I actually won. Once this is in my possession I'll have their first three LPs. I fucking love this band so much, and the early stuff is my favorite by a mile. Still really want Nothingface though, I've only heard a few songs live.

Megadeth - Peace Sells...but Who's Buying? (Capitol Records, LP)
Venom - At War With Satan (Neat Records, gatefold edition)

I'm so excited to finally get to hear Megadeth without the atrocious remaster. Also pumped on my first Venom record.

I only pick up a few things every other week or so, nothing too crazy.

CDs
Destruction - Sentence of Death/Infernal Overkill double album
Deicide - Legion
Blood Incantation - Starspawn

Those are the 3 I picked out of the 10 or so I was carrying while browsing. The others were mostly marked-down classics like Bonded By Blood, Among the Living, Operation: Mindcrime, Surgical Steel, etc

I can't stop catching deals on discogs:

Megadeth - So Far, So Good...So What? (Capitol Records, LP)

I've been working on acquiring the first three Megadeth records, or what has lovingly been dubbed the "Shithead era" by the chaps at NWN. I've never actually heard So Far, So Good... The reviews are interesting. The idea of him recording some of the first songs he ever wrote after leaving Metallica is VERY interesting. I'm very excited to hear classic Megadeth without the god-awful remaster of the CDs.

Did something super embarrassing today.

Heard about the band Timeghoul yesterday while looking for some new stuff.

Go to music store today, mistakenly purchase a Timelord album (some thrash band). Probably should have looked at it for more than 5 seconds.

Anyways, exchanged it and got the new Moonsorrow because of course they don't carry Timeghoul.

Now there is a band I didn't think many knew of, I know people that are close to that band, small world! I hope the Moonsorrow album was sick though.

Recently I picked up the re-issue of Diadem of Twelve Stars - Wolves in the Throne Room on vinyl & cassette. Always been a fan of them, well all their material before Celestite.

The remixes just changed badly mixed botched recordings into a different type of badly mixed botched recordings  Seriously, the first three Megadeth albums have some of the worst production ever inflicted on any metal that isn't made by 1-man bedroom bands, mainly due to Dave's overwhelming drug habits at that time. Too bad he couldn't just do a straight remix, he had to fuck them up in all sorts of other ways. That said, the more recent remaster (not remixed, just remastered) of Peace Sells (on the anniversary edition) is by far the best attempt at bringing any of those albums up to a reasonable standard, but So Far So Good So What's original mix is so drowned in reverb there's not much that can be done with it. I should know, I tried and just made it sound even worse

RP:

My Dying Bride - Turn Loose The Swans (2LP, reissue)
Thergothon - Stream From the Heavens (LP, reissue)
Prisoner Of War - Rot (CD)
Obituary - Cause of Death (CD, original pressing to replace the nasty remaster)
