I am so sick of purchasing stuff. Going to my record store to check the used vinyl section for week after week to rarely find a single good thing. Most of the stuff I really really really want is extraordinarily expensive online, that can never be obtained in a local record store without extraordinary luck. Some of it is just so unfair, like 30-100+ dollars for an ORG OOP album online. The album I probably want most is gorement's the ending quest original. Never going to happen. I want ash borer's self title. So much stuff I want isn't even available. I do have the other two releases the ending quest album came out on though, but take my word, there's more stuff.

Not to mention reissues can cost 20+ dollars, because those assholes on ebay turnaround the profit from the manufacturer and sell it for 2x the price. For example, xtreem music releases. I saw some go for like 60 dollars on ebay and I got the same CD brand new for 10 dollars plus shipping. If it wasn't bad enough, that I can't even get the things I really want. There's an exponentially large backlist of things I want to get, because I basically find new music to listen to almost every day. Not to mention if you have a belated interest of an album within several years of it's release then it goes for so many times the original price.

When I was into nintendo entertainment system games a few years ago, I only needed one nintendo entertainment system that someone gave me for free. Then it took about a year of saving up my lunch money to get basically all the games on the list of games I wanted. Once I have them, they're not coming out with new ones, so I was able to settle down and stop buying them and just be happy with what I have. But with music it's a barrage of constant agony over being dissatisfied with the music I already have, because there's so much music I want I cannot afford. I have very few rare and desirable ORG classic albums. Some of the classics you can't even get on reissue. So FUCK!!! /rant

It all comes down to how much do you really care about STUFF! It's all just STUFF. How much money have I already spent on pieces of plastic? I once heard that you don't really even own stuff, stuff owns YOU! and that's exactly how I feel at this point.

I can relate with that. Definitely can. Sometimes I wake up thinking that this is all an awful charade, the OOP rarities obscene prices , the Pink/Red/Orange/Blue/Phlegm coloured limited die-hard vinyl reissues, everything.

@ metaldiscussor666 - I think you should start investing some time in finding underground distros, once I did that I began spending much less to get the same albums. In fact I've gone to spend about half of what I would, and I barely buy on stores anymore. You can get new stuff for less than 10€/USD so in the end you just need to find the best places to buy stuff.

With that being said I feel like this every now and then:
japc wrote:

But then I start browsing through the goods and seeing all the booklets and listening to the albums and I forget, or better off remember, what it's all about.

We all have neurotic days man, and then it passes. ;)

The new Wintersun album is alright, but not even close to being as good as their first album.

Skyfire's Esoteric is absolutely terrible for Skyfire.

CrushedRevelation: Thanks! I got it from ebay, paid $23 for it, happy with that.
A great release indeed.

Some nice stuff there yourself, Kruzifixion might be my favorite album by Katharsis.

Just got my Lykathea Aflame 2CD reissue/remaster today. $14.00 from Williowtip Records. Took two days to get to my house. Probably helps that it's only a two drive to their headquarters! Anyways, great release and glad I got it for such a good price!

Bought this month, all cds:

From BlackShitNoise:
Satan's Satyrs - Wild Beyond Belief!

From eBay:
Manilla Road - Spiral Castle

From Omega Order (40% off):
Incantation - Decimate Christendom
Necrophobic - The Nocturnal Silence
Encoffination - Ritual Ascension Beyond Flesh
Nachtmystium - Demise
Xasthur - Suicide In Dark Serenity
Xasthur/Leviathan split

Also awaiting some cds I bought from someone in the buying and selling board. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now, but every transaction like this makes me feel like I'm being suckered.

I echo the sentiments of metaldiscussor666 to some extent. All these were impulse buys except for Satan's Satyrs, which I had been awaiting on cd. It is very hard for me to enjoy music that I don't have on physical format and there is so much I want to buy that it is hard to keep up, especially if I keep buying stuff that isn't in my want list. For example I want the first three Incantation albums, I bought Decimate Christendom and I know I won't fully enjoy it because I don't have them and if I buy them this month I'll feel guilty because I have spent too much already. Ahh well, this is silly and now I'm ranting. At least I have Satan's Satyrs which makes me want to burn my neighbor's trash.
