Dude, where did you get your copy of "Dark Medieval Times"? I've been wanting one for ages!

Seriously? This is one of the easiest available Black Metal classics. Even the firstpress is available anytime and often sells for less than 10 Euros. I sold/traded at least 12-15 firstpress copies over the last 3 years as it was very often part of CD lots that I bought or traded.

Well, believe it or not, I've been having a hard time finding a copy here in Lisbon. I bought one for a friend a few years ago, but that shop doesn't sell brand new cds anymore, so my only hope is to find a used copy, which unfortunately is unlikely... :(

This is my idea of buying "new" releases:

Deceased - Surreal Overdose
Inquisition - Obscure Verses for the Multiverse

I know both albums are going to rule. Looking forward to catching up on these. Two of the most reliable underground acts imaginable.

Of course the chance getting a firstpress in a shop surely will be difficult, but in times of Ebay, Discogs and other sites it should be an easy one, you just have to addd postage

Just dropped an ass load of money on the Order From Chaos "Frozen in Steel" 9 x LP boxset and went ahead and picked up Varathron - Walpurgisnacht LP while I was at it. My wallet is pissed.

Man, I don't think you'll regret that purchase at all when it shows up. I've been fawning over it all morning but it would be pointless for me to order, don't even have a record player. The Die Hard edition is really incredible, not even for all the extras but just the sheer amount of music you're getting.

all the way from Chile by way of the NWN! forums

Witchrist - Ancient Tombs [cassette demo]

from a seller on NWN! in Canada, took nearly 6 months to arrive, that's a new record

Agoraphobic Nosebleed - Frozen Corpse Stuffed With Dope [US, insane grindcore] new to Discogs
Arphaxat - Loudun La Maudite [US, but it's all written in French, black metal]
Cryptic Winds - Storms Of The Black Millenium [GER, bleak and rough black metal] not for me, I already have one
Electric Wizard - Let Us Prey [US, original] not for me, I already have one
Electric Wizard - We Live [UK, original] not for me, I already have one
Ravager - Naxzgul Rising [FRA, solid DM] not for me, I already have one
Sinister - Legacy Of Ashes [US, Goomba, not bad]
Strapping Young Lad - Alien [US, enhanced, I really just want their 1st album]

from a friend who got them from Okoi way back in the day, all autographed too
if you like Bolzer you could easily like this

Aphelon - Aphelon [demo 1] new to Discogs
Aphelon - Opposing The Pityfilth [demo 2] new to Discogs
Aphelon - Scorn Shall Prevail [sounds like it was ripped from vinyl in places, weird]
Aphelon - The Ethos Elite

Meh, not really. It doesn't sound like Asphyx, more like the precursor to Soulburn, but less interesting.

Am I the only one thinking Asphyx is just a mediocre and overrated band in the death metal scene?

The latest purchase still in the mail is The Ugly - Slaves to the Decay. I'm debating on Dead Silent Slumber since I'm a Naglfar and Profundi fan.

Yep. Same for the self-titled, On The Wings Of Inferno and the monstrous Deathhammer.

Primordial - Where Greater Men Have Fallen digibook with the bonus DVD.

Bloody awesome! The Irish have a a few companies that know how to build data centers, bad whiskey, and Primordial. And that's pretty much it. But fortunately, Primordial rules, so it's not quite Albania.

I just picked up a nice load of stuff from Disc Replay in Hoffman Estates, I'll post pictures when I get home, they have 50% off all cds today for black Friday. The metal section doubled in size and the lady told me they may extend the sale for the whole of December. But today for sure 50% off all cds.

Black Friday was good to me this year! All this for around $50.

Manowar - Hail to England
Manowar - Into Glory Ride
Horrendous - The Chills
Encryptor - Encryption (1999-2006) (Compilation)
Napalm Death - Enemy of the Music Business
Napalm Death - Harmony Corruption
Therion - A'arab Zaraq - Lucid Dreaming
Oniricous - Ritos Diabolicos
Unfathomable Ruination - Unfathomable Ruination (self titled demo, nice!)
Estuary - The Craft of Contradiction
Evocation - Apocalyptic

Pick of the litter: Definitely the Horrendous debut, I've been meaning to pick up their stuff for a while now, especially with their new album out, so when I happened upon this (for $6 no less) I was pretty pleased.

Ugh, that's like the shittiest Therion album ever; please don't judge the band based off it. It's mostly b-sides and the keyboardist's symphonic side-project or something.

Latest arrivals:

Image
Pain of Salvation - Remedy Lane [Japanese pressing]
Ark - Burn the Sun [Japanese pressing]
五人一首 (Gonin-ish) - 無礙の人 [Single]
Die Laughing - The Temptress [EP]

凜 - 蝶舞花 / 琥珀ノスタルジー [Single]
El.Mira - 辛辣トリコロール / a liberal view [Single]
Faintest Hope - An End, Another Life [EP]
Delgesu - Posed for Flight [Single]

Pick of the litter: considering Pain of Salvation "Remedy Lane" is one of my all-time favorite albums, I'll have to go with that. That Gonin-ish single is pretty rare and cool to have too.

That ARK album was amazing, it's still a treat when I listen to it. Such a shame Tore Otsby didn't make more music... whatever happened with him? I loved Conception too but his pairing with Jorn Lande was brilliant.

Anyway, Burn The Sun is a stellar record.

Props again to Ear Wax Records in Madison, WI for always having the sickest shit this side of Lake Michigan. 25% off everything today and tomorrow, if you're in the area you have to get there ASAP!

Incantation - Onwards to Golgotha
Odious Mortem - Cryptic Implosion
Wolves in the Throne Room - Two Hunters
Cyanosis - Methods (sick Wisco brutal death in the midwestern style! no posers or fakes!!!!)
Havok - Unnatural Selection
Sepultura - Beneath the Remains
Suffocation - Pierced from Within (only 12 bucks, great deal)
Odious Mortem - Cryptic Implosion is quite good, I have a copy here, did you already like them or did you get it because it was cheap?
